Finally after spending 45 minutes on the phone to Apple they are sending a replacement, you wouldn't believe how useless they where. I must have told them 10 times that the screws where missing and they kept asking for photos so they could understand the problem. Theirs only two bloody screws visible on the phone, I wondered if she had actually ever seen an IPhone.

Definitely look like your missing a few screws. Is the back of the phone loose at all?

No the phone seems completely fine.

Finally

Glad to see other people have this problem also. Called Apple, will bring out a replacement soon. It took an hour to give me that response.

"There's only two bloody screws on the phone. I wonder if she's ever seen an iPhone"

Gotta say I got a nice chuckle out of that one ha

Egad. If that had happened to me, I might have missed it.

I had to get a magnifying glass and use the Flashlight app on my iPhone 4 to even see the screws inside those two tiny holes.

Good catch. :) Bad luck. :(

how do we know you aren't one of those Android guys carrying out your iphone release day bash plan

and you removed the screws yourself?

Can somebody please confirm that there should be two small star headed screws in the bottom of the new iPhone. I checked Apples website and they appear in their photos.

It also came with a small scratch on the edge which seems to be a fairly common occurrence on the black models. :(

WOW so many problems. but ive looked at all the people posting negatives have the status near there name (like mine) that says newbie.
i believe they are just posting horror pictures so that we may buy an android?
anyways even if it were real im pretty sure you know it is missing screws. just take it into an apple store and they will replace it.

You will just have to trust me:p I am however posting this comment from My IPad , have a MacBook Pro and have had iPhones before. This is the first problem I have ever encountered with any apple products. They are sending a replacement next week and a courier to pick my current phone up so the service was really good once I managed to find a clue'd up person.

how is it "horrible?" sorry, i agree it's a major issue and he's obviously going to get a replacement, but "horrible" would be a dictator killing innocent people or my dog getting hit by a car. This is one of millions of phones manufactured at a factory in china... Countless others won't have this issue. Am i the only one who thinks "this is horrible" is just a tad melodramatic?
+1

QFT, haha.

Oh how horrible that he has to wait a day or two to get a normal functioning iPhone without having to make any sacrifice.

You and the other person accusing him of this need to get a life. He could have signed up to just ask this to check with us before going to Apple.

Oh come on, it's not a tragedy. I mean, you got the phone, right? Enjoy it as it is!

Of course it's not a traged its a phone! I just wanted to be sure it was faulty before contacting Apple to get it fixed so its the way it should be. Some nice people responded straight away and I contacted apple. Its more an inconvenience than anything.

Horrible due to the fact that this was not noticed before packaging. Quality control just seems to be lacking. Doesn't matter how many phones are being produced, more workers should be involved then.

IM SO GLAD I'm not the only one, me and my brother bought one each. He got the white16gb and I got the black32gb! His phone was perfect and mines was missing the screws and I was like WTF !! I phoned apple immediately and they were also shocked and they got me another one sent out, got it the next day(with screws pre installed lol)! I'm very surprised this could slip through quality control from such a big company like Apple.
