iPhone 5-Music Skipping while charging

I have an iPhone 5 running 6.1 (ATT). The music plays fine while it is unplugged and not charging. However, when I'm charging the phone, the music app (Apple) won't play or starts skipping music. Has anyone else seen this issue, and if so is there a remedy? TIA!

What kind of audio output are you listening to the music from? Is it a dock, bluetooth, headphones, or through the built in speaker?
