I must admit you're a good liar. :) Bravo! Entertain me!

Just go look up countless speed tests on Youtube man, the i5 even beats the S4 pro processor thats in the Droid DNA and Xperia Z in browser benchmarks... It has superior GPU performance to the DNA, Note 2 and Xperia Z

I have tested my i5 against my brothers Note 2 and my i5 wins every single test every time, more noticeably in browser speed tests, apps launch roughly a little bit faster on the i5 although the i5 apps never refresh, the Note 2's apps need to refresh after a while when you dont use them and thats all poor performance due to the cortex a9 series processors

The Note 2 is a Arm cortex a9 procesor and the A6 chip in the i5 is a arm a-15 processor...of course the i5 is faster then the note 2.

Touch response and scrolling is defitnetly not as good on Android as it is on iOS either.... IOS has better hardware accleration then Android

Gpu in iphone 5 is roughly 3x faster then the Mali GPU chip in the Note 2

Only time I've ever seen it hiccup was when I got a barrage of group text messages one day.

seems like the only time my phone lags. i have a group chat open with my best friends, and sometimes it will slow down.

it's funny cause i never had this issue on the iphone 4, but for some reason i have it on the iphone 5. i'm convinced it's a software issue

very annoying.

Never ever slow. I used android devices earlier which frequently requires a reboot. This is the first time i bought iphone 5 and i m very much satisfied by its performance. Since last reboot, i had installed nearly 80 - 90 apps without any problem. This is not slow at all. This is really incredible experience for me . Its been 24 days since i last rebooted my device once just for firmware upgrade. After that till yet, i never felt the need of reboot.

the iphone 5 is even faster than my quad core i7 mbp15 at times. In fact its either faster all of the time or equal but never slower.

It's an iOS 6 issue I believe. It never happened on my 3GS and i4. When I got the 4S it started having the issue. I always thought it was the phone until I got the 5 recently.

Same issue. After a few group messages, it kind of freezes and gets stuck.

Being the fastest iOS device in our house, I NEVER notice any lag or slowdown when using my iPhone 5. It's incredibly snappy and responsive with anything I throw at it.

Many times when im on the home screen and i swipe left or right it may stay stuck inbetween 2 pages. Or a few times when i wake the phone up the slide to unlock gets stuck so i press the wake button and it takes a screen shot lol i just close out the apps and restart. As far as LTE its amazing i hate wifi now.

VBulletin then? None of the other forums I post on regularly exhibit the behavior (The Verge, ArsTechnica) but they don't use vbulletin either.

Don't know. I was asked a question by the op and I answered it to the best of my ability. I honestly don't notice as much lag on other devices, but I do the most forum browsing on the iohone truth be told.

Okay well the mobile provider that I wanted to go with finally got nano-SIM cards. I'm now once again considering the iPhone 5 instead of waiting till the fall for the 5S. So to users I ask again: is it still slow? For those running iOS 7 beta, is the iPhone 5 lagging?

All devices will lag at times doing certain things. I've seen an iPhone 5 lag when looking at Netflix.com pretty badly or when a mess of text messages are going on like a group with 5 people texting constantly.

iOS is a bit limited so you rarely see slow downs. It's not like you can have multiple windows open doing multiple task. You can't really do anything to force a slow down.

iOS 7 which is still far from completed currently has lag in it. But we'll need to wait till the final release before passing judgement. However I can nearly guarantee it will be really smooth on the 5S.

I occasionally get slow web page loading (MR being the usual culprit) or the CNET app will get stuck loading new articles. Games might crash once in a while. But it's night and day over my BB storm2. Verizon 3G is incredibly bogged down, but LTE is pretty good where I am. I occasionally drop to 3G and get slower speeds.

If you have good LTE coverage in your area, you shouldn't have too many problems. 3G will be unbearable, although it is an improvement over "dumb phones".

Betas are betas. They have extra processes running in the background, so they tend to run slower than final versions.

I'm going to get my first smartphone soon (and replace the 'dumbphone' I got right before the smartphone revolution 6 years ago) but I'm debating about getting the iPhone 5 now or waiting for the 5S (supposedly to be released this summer). What I really want to know is if the current iPhone is slow in anyway. If not, then new features on the 5S probably won't bug me.

The iPhone 4S is faster than you'll need at present, the iPhone 5 is overkill but the lighter and slimmer form with the larger screen is handy.

This is highly disingenuous. The 4S lags like hell at this point and doesn't even have enough RAM to keep a couple of Safari pages open without having to reload.

No it doesnt.

Speak for yourself. Multitasking is a drag, opening settings or music takes forever, and Safari can't keep tabs open to save its life (a clear indication that there's not enough RAM).
