I actually like that design.

Truth be told, I never did like brick-like design of the iphone 4, I always felt the iphone 3's curved body fit in my hand better.

It looks a tad bit too thin for my taste. A phone should have a little thickness to it so it doesn't feel cheap to hold. I like how sturdy the iPhone 4 feels currently. Maybe shave off about a millimetre or two, but that's it. But that's just my personal opinion. Everyone has there own.

Front looks good. Not a fan of the tappered edges or iTouch thinness.

Even with an InCase on my daughters iTouch, it feels cheap and too easy to slip out of your hands.

looks good, but again, too damn thin, There's no room in that thing for even a battery. That's right about not being able to pick these designs up if they're laying face down on the table. Have to try that with the iPad 2.

I see what your all saying it is way to tapered, I was actually modeling after the iPad 2 so thats why that happened I think. Anyways heres some screenshots from the top and side next to the images of the model that macrumors commissioned

as you can see at its thickest point its the same but it tapers off allot more giving it a very thin look and it is a little taller than the model that they made. I'd like to hear some more productive feedback, as apposed to "looks awful", because I'd like to make this an awesome concept with your guys's help. Thanks!

You got me;) I was conducting an experiment to see if I could convince people that my renders were real iPhone 5 images, I know I failed, miserably. Anyways heres some of the renders without the blurrycam effects:

I'd love to hear your feedback so I can make some changes. Thanks!

PS: Yeah I wish Apple would make the logo on the back that big that would be awesome:D

Why do people think thinner is better for phones? Thinner is worse, you want to be able to gripe the thing. The iphone 3gs was the perfect thickness IMO. I think the iphone 4 is too thing there is no way the iphone 5 should be any thinner, I just never understood the craze for things to be thinner tech wise. Not to mention the thinner the phone the more likely it is to break if you happen to drop it.

so you tried trolling everyone with the hope of your images get passed around the 'net.

Thinner phones with a case would be perfect size.

It's going to have to have somewhat of a flat back so it sits still on your desk while you use it. That's one of the big complaints about the 3GS. Plenty of other phones have mastered this (Samsung Captivate comes to mind).

Jeez people around here are so rude:( I had no intention of trolling I was simply trying to see if I was a good enough 3d artist to pass of my designs as official ones, I know I'm not, it was simply a leaway into displaying my concept art. Sorry if I hurt your feelings I didn't mean to offend anyone.

i actually like it,it's not bad. You're a very good designer, the only thing i would like to say that it's too thin. And my opinion is that if the new iPhone will get a home button like that,im not sure if i will like it

Ignore them.

Well, you did trick people a bit and for some of the angry crowd around here that's all it takes for them to go after you like a pack of wild dogs.

I just shrugged it off. People are too touchy. Great work there, though. (I work 3D as well and know how difficult it is)

I'm not really rude at all, what's rude is that you were trying to be deceptive. If you'd stated in your first post that it was your personal mock up then fair enough, it looks good and you've obviously spent time on it. What i do have the issue with, however, is trying to pass it off (originally, until you owned up) as the real thing, hence my original comment.

I'll tell you now, your design is great, and many would've said (and have said) that, but you've created more negative criticism because you tried to pass it off as the iP5

So, what are you doing here?

It was rather unnessecary for you to post. It's clear what i was doing, i think you should look up the definition of trolling.

No you won't. If thats the iPhone 5, you will buy the iPhone 5. And you will like it.

Quoted because it's so true, though there's ZERO chance it will have that kind of taper and be that thin.

I worked in the engineering design business and how you start a 3D design is you stack all the components that you need inside and build a shell around it, not the other way 'round.

Dude, I think you've already made the best rendering of the iPhone 5. I just find it stunning although I think Apple will not use the iPadish backdesign and they will stay with the glass back. Too thin? I don't think so but to each his own but furthermore if Apple brings this design out it will be shattering all other devices big time.

Can't you make a rendering with a black/white glass back? The rumor about Apple buying glasscutting machines is imo for the tappered glassback for what else could it be?

ONE TIP! The edges of the squarelogo in your homebutton are not that hard they are more (don't know the exact word) bending in the next line, just have a look at the real iPhone homebutton.
