A Month ago I noticed my screen has a pink hue over it's screen. It's noticeable because it looks like a rounded rectangle with a 20px margin around it. It's in the screen and most noticeable when viewing an all white image (or a new tab in safari -> landscape and fullscreen).

I checked with 2 colleagues and both seemed to have the same issue (one not so bad, but still noticeable).

I attached a photo of my screen and edited it to make the effect more pronounced.

Are there more people with this problem and will Apple Care replace a phone with this problem? I'm afraid it's widespread.

Checked with another colleague today. He had the same problem. Could people please check their screens with a complete white image (like an empty safari tab in landscape) and tell me if they have this problem as well? Or not of course.

My iPhone 5 seems to have it too. Just wondering if Apple replaces the iPhone for that sort of thing.

Could it be possibly from a screen protector. I have a ghost armor shield on my screen. Do you have any sort of screen protector on?

I don't use a screenprotector, neither do my colleagues. Some carry their phone in a pouch, some bare.

I checked with another friend. He doesn't have the problem, but he got his phone only a few months ago (mine is from a few weeks after launch). So it seems to be an age thing.

But it's just weird that it has this almost perfect shape in every instance I have seen it. Maybe it has to do with the backlight?

Here's another thread with the same red tint issue: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1586346/

Might be a relatively new issue with iPhone 5's produced in mid-2013. Apple is seriously beginning to slack in quality. Unrelated to this issue, but I could immediately make out the inferior quality of the iPhone 5's display after first getting it versus the iPhone 4's screen. Has to do with the in-cell display technology.

Went to the Apple store today for my iPhone. The Genius claimed the pink was from screen protector residue I had on my phone. But anyway, they went ahead and did a display replacement.

Good as new.

I also have the same problem and it's getting pn my nerves. -_- First, it was just a green hue on the corner of my phone then days later it became pink and kept on spreading until it becomes rectangular. I have this iphone 5s for a year and a half already..
