Just a quick question, at launch (whenever that may be) does anyone have any idea's how much the iPhone 5 may cost? 16GB, 32GB or maybe even 64GB??

they aren't out yet so we can only guess. more than likely 16 for 199 and the 32 for 299. that is if you have a upgrade on your phone contract.

Agreed

What happens to the 8 and 16 GB users that want to use iPhone5?

It should be 16/199 32/299 barring any late updates.

Technology gets progressively cheaper over time, therefore Apple is able to offer larger amounts of storage space at the same price. Historically, Apple has always increased the HDD space by double the preceding amount. The iPhone 4 was released with 16GB and 32GB.

8G users cannot even use an i4.

If they go to 32/64 on storage for i5 (which I hope they do), you will likely see the i4/16G as the 99 model.

Then they get twice as much storage for the same price..

Exactly. I'm not sure what's going through the guy's mind. I'm having one of those "WTF?" moments right now. :D

Knowing apple I would have to say that the 4s will cost an Arm and the 5 Will be a Leg. With mandatory first born to bypass the limited data plan.

The lower-end iPhone 5 will take the place of the lower end iPhone 4 (16gb), and the higher end iPhone 5 will take the place of the higher end iPhone 4 (32gb).

And then the iPhone 4 will be lowered to the current 3GS spot.

The capacity for the $199 version will depend on if Apple is upgrading to 32gb/64gb, or keeping the 16gb/32gb.

Apple has established the price point for iPhones and get great prices from their vendors, I do not see them raising the price. If we will be able to store our iTunes library and pictures on iCloud and have instant access, why is high capacity important? I think that the iPhone will remain at $199 for base model and $299 for the larger capacity.

iCloud is not a streaming based model. But rather just a networked storage model.

In order to have your music play on your phone, you have to download it from iCloud. That, requires space.

But it would help on the storage front if you could choose what to sync, and remove it by doing another sync whenever you wanted to listen to something else.

IF (Fingers crossed ) there is a 64GB version, it will probably be $299 with the 32GB being $199..but you never know, the 64GB could be $399..
Apple may be implementing iCloud but doesn't mean everyone is going to use it.

iPad 2 retailed for less than the iPad 1 went on sale at. It will depend on how much new tech is incorporated versus the drop in price of existing tech probably.

That was probably due to the exchange rates. The iPad 2 retailed at the same price points as the iPad 1 in the US.
