Ok, place your bets on a release date for the iPhone 5.

1. June
2. July
3. August
4. September
5. October
6. November
7. December

Smart money says July, but I'm saying August.

2 weeks, ill be setting up camp pretty soon. anyone want to join...?

I'm thinking it may actually be September. It just makes sense with the Verizon iPhone being just released in February.

I think theres 95 carriers that sell the iPhone.

94 carriers > Verizon. Verizon isn't the first carrier to get the iPhone mid cycle and just like every other year the iPhone came out in June or July. Apple might be pushing back the iPhone to September this year for a few reason and if they do Verizon getting the iPhone in February won't be the reason.

Really doubt that iPhone 5 will be a huge upgrade from iPhone 4.

So, no reason to delay in big markets like UK, US and etc.

I expect iPhone 5 in June or July.

People said iPad 2 will not come out until Summer and it was released in March, so I don't believe what these stupid journalists say. They say things to keep their jobs, but they are really not needed.

iPhone 5

I think that the journalist maybe right, cause not often, but sometimes are. They seem to have the resources of finding things out, especially with Apple being a big topic people are interested in. I am hoping June though at the lastest! I am due for an upgrade!

Its irrelevant.

Unless your desperate to be an Apple owner, the smart money goes elsewhere.

Apple's fumbled the ball and will take some time to recover. Hopefully by iphone 6, they'll get back on track.

My professional opinion as an apple blogger

The iPhone 5 will be announced in mid to late September, will begin production in early september and be released in early October. The reasoning behind this is the white iPhone 4. Apple is a genius in marketing and timing.

The iPhone 4 in white should be available sometime very soon and the ignorant people (being nice here) that have been holding off for it will all flock to it because it's the newest and coolest apple product, even though it isn't new at all as far as technology, speed, and productivity go. So Apple will stagger the release of the iPhone 5 in order for people to get over the white iPhone and be anxious for the iPhone 5, wanting an early upgrade. It will build up even more hype than currently present, ultimately leading to even more profit for Apple and more devices sold.

In these times when Apple wants to control the smartphone market instead of Android, they are earning their place very cleverly. With the release of the iPhone 4 on Verizon, Apple became even stronger of a competitor in the smartphone market in the US. With the release of their Q2 earnings yesterday, Apple reported selling 18.65 million iPhones..... That's over twice as many iPhones as they sold during last year's Q2. Apple will be looking to keep that number strong with the release of a white iPhone 4 in Quarter 3. So instead of releasing the iPhone 5 in that same quarter, Apple will look to grow in their market share even more and hold off the iPhone 5 until October.

But then again, this is all just logical speculation ;)
