Some people will like it, some people will hate it.

For myself, I'm going to wait until it's actually announced and available, and I can actually try it out, before I decide how I feel about it.

It bothers me that people think the phone is already out and have passed judgement on it. I'll wait until the 5 is released and I see it in person, not some mock up, image, or render

So far there is nothing on the new iPhone images that I dont like, but I'll wait untill the 12th to judge its looks
 
Omg, a taller iPhone?! THAT'S UGLY! No. Just no. NO.

It's not UGLY because it's longer.

That's hilarious! Cuz I was thinking the same thing about last year. I was following the rumors closely as I was finally getting my first iPhone. I won't be getting this one, but I am still casually looking at the rumor mill and I keep feeling like I'm thrown back in time to last year. :)
 
Actually i love the idea about a taller screen. Videos fit so well, and the most important thing for me is i can still use it easily with one hand without stretching my thumb too much like i do with my galaxy nexus. It's a pain to use the galaxy nexus.
 
From pictures, I think it's ugly and the worst iphone yet design wise, BUT as someone pointed out, I didn't like the look of the leaked Iphone 4 compared to the 3G design, then once I held it in my hand I realized it was much nicer. I'll reserve judgement until I see it in person, or at least until the official unveiling, right now all we have is rumors and supposed leaks.
 
Sometimes I feel a lot of threads which are started are useless and not required.

If the new iPhone looks like the leaked pics, then I agree with the OP, it really is ugly with the two tone black and brushed aluminum. It no longer looks like an like a high end, elegant, device. More piece meal if you ask me.

I for one will be very disappointed if that is the new iPhone.

A 16:9 4" iphone suits me to a "T", so if that's what is released I'll be a happy camper. I've always felt that the 4:3 was intended to mask the tiny 3.5" screen and nothing else. I'll buy the next iphone for the Apple ecosystem and software, the 4" 16:9 screen is just a BIG bonus as far as I'm concerned. And just think, all those folks panicking about one handed use won't have anything to sweat now since the phone will still be narrow enough to fit in their little munchkin hands.:D

That would be great. But like you said, we can be almost 100% positive we have seen what we will be getting (or at least something very close to it)

I too did not like the iPhone 4 when we saw the leaks and rumors. But, its form factor was radically different compared to the 3G/3GS.

This time, it is much easier to visualize/imagine what the new phone will look like. Since it is only getting slightly thinner and taller.

I to really like the two tone and will of course purchase one near launch. ;) OP, there are other choices out there.

PA: It's not ugly. Perhaps to you it is, but you have absolutely no say in the matter. Apple does
