iPhone 5 to 7 to X

This is a question for those of you who experienced the jump from 4/4s to 5 with it's longer screen, and later jumped from a 6/6s/7 to the X.

Is there any similarity in form factor? I found the 5 too long and narrow coming from the 4. Apple just added a bit on top, and some of the hands on X videos looks unsettlingly similar - it's a 7 with a bit at the top.

Is there any common ground in those two experiences?

The experience is not the same. X is not a bit of addition on top. It’s more like a replacement of bezels with screen.

Right but the user experience is holding a phone marginally wider but significantly taller, isn't it?
