Hi everyone,

I have 2 questions:

1) Is there a way to unlock the iphone? I'm currently running 6.1.2 and need to unlock it because I'm travelling next week.

2) Is there a way to downgrade? I've saved my SHSH blobs of 6.0 and I wanted to downgrade to 6.0.

Thanks.

the only unlock you can get is a carrier level unlock, there has not been a software unlock for over 2 years. (either from the carrier itself or from somewhere else online)

no, there is currently no way to downgrade even with SHSH blobs

Not entirely correct.

Threadstarter can pursue an IMEI unlock from selling carrier or aftermarket vendor (depending on carrier).
So a blanket "No" answer to unlocking options is misleading.

What carrier is your iphone locked to?

Currently it's locked to Fido (Canadian). I called them to unlock it and they said they won't until my term is done. Here in Canada it sucks because they make you finish your term before you unlock which is 3 years. By that time the phone is obsolete or I probably would have another phone. Does unlock fusion work for Fido?

I'm with Fido (Canadian), would you know of any aftermarket vendor that unlocks Fido?

Fido iphone IMEI unlocks are expensive.
I found some on ebay for $100.

under Rogers you can have you phone unlocked after being on the network with it for 90 days, cost is 50$. im pretty sure Fido followed Rogers (their parent company) with these policies
