I used mine for about 10 months without a case and it got a few dings and scratches, especially on the back which ended up feeling super smooth as it wore down haha. I didn't mind it but I got a replacement recently so I'm back to babying it for a bit!

I have the white and silver since launch. Not a single scuff, ding, or scratch ANYWHERE on the entire device.

Anyone sceptical of that I'd be happy to provide some high quality date stamped macro shots if required ;)

Mine has a few dings/dents on the corners. They're not that major. I don't use a case because I don't really see the point in covering up my beautiful phone, and I've only dropped it like 3 times. The only the marks on the back are on the shiny Apple logo, not really sure why that's always been a trouble spot with Apple devices...

I'm going to do an express replacement though because my lock button doesn't work, then I'm going to sell that replacement so I can get the 5S.

I have a black iPhone 5, and iPad Mini. The subtle wear and tear on the edges exposing the silver behind it is kinda driving me nuts. The black model's of these devices are beautiful but I'd like to see if I can avoid this.

Anyone have the white versions of these since launch? How do they look now compared to when they were released?

Minor dings and things like that don't bother me, it's just the small silver blotches on the black that annoys me.

i have had a white 64GB iPhone 5 since launch, it was just replaced by apple a couple days ago though with a new/re-manufactured one though. The white one held up great except for the aluminum banding and the famously sculptured chamfered edges. I wen't completed naked on the phone for about 8 months and then finally threw a body skin on the whole thing. The marks are seen on the bezel if you are looking for them, and there were so many that you couldn't really see the shine of the chamfered edges anymore. In normal use though you never noticed it. On the black versions though, any little nick is glaring.
