Swapped nearly 10x different iPhones. Chip number Doesn't matter, the same 54:26 would work fine and then the next replacement wouldn't.

Currently finally have a perfect unit without issues that's an 88:53

Apple chip here and no issues anywhere I use my 5. In fact it seems better than my 4 was. At home I'm using a apple AirPort Extreme on 5ghz and it flies.

frustration

looked it up and phone has an apple chip

since being abroad and constantly needing to use wifi/wlan spots with my iphone 5 I encounter only problems ..in fact I cannot connect most of the time although I have got the access codes..
at my side is my old 3gs ..which connects without any problem ..I also carry my old netbook ..(samsung) which I use now instead of my unusable iphone 5..no connection problems either

thanks..

5426, Apple. Having issues with wifi dropping when phone goes to sleep. Just started happing after upgrade to 6.1.3

Apple chip, nothing but problems. Wifi will stay connected, but after about 15 minutes of streaming, the internet will cut out. iOS 6.1.4, AirPort Extreme 5th Gen running firmware version 7.6.3 (latest) and it was just replaced. iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.2 is not having this problem, and it is running on the same wifi network.

I have started a petition to get Apple to replace all of our iPhone 5s with this problem. As far as I can tell, this is the only way we will be able to get our iPhones working, have them replaced with known working devices. Link:

Mine says Cisco, what does that mean? This is my third phone , the first two from same factory lot did not work , this one does , this one was made in april

My iPhone 5 quickly connects with the wi-fi we have installed in the home. No problem at all!!!!!

What router brand, model and security settings do you have on it?

This is crazy that this is still an issue. I returned my iphone 5 and same issue with the new one, except the "range" on my new one is horrible compared to my last one. I could go outside with my last one, and can't with the new one. If I go outside, wifi signal is gone. Of course I also have a ipod 4g and wifi works outside all around! Frustrating!!

Apple says all iphone 5's have same wifi chip in them. Has anyone found out if this is true to how to check which phones have the "other" chip.???

I bought the new AirPort Extreme 6th Gen with 802.11ac and for whatever reason, the problem has disappeared! I don't know what was going on, but there seems to be a problem between iOS and the AirPort Extreme 5th Gen. Someone reported on the Apple Support Forums that iOS 7 fixed the problems, although all of those posts have been removed.

Another one with issues here.

Both iPhone 5's at home have this issue. One of them has been replaced, and the replacement also has the issue - that makes 3.

iPhone 5 WIFI absolutely useless at home unless I stand within a few metres of the wireless access point. No other device exhibits the issue.
