Personally im pissed off with the lack of effort. Apple officially become lazy.
 
For those that whine for a wider smartphones, and can’t seem to understand Apple does not care for your complaints..... Ever ! Apple is not fashion, it's function. Extremely conservative, so get used to it. ;)

8 megapixel sensor, 3264x2448 resolution
Audio system: three microphones (up from 2)
Speaker now has 5 magnets, up from two
front-facing camera is finally 720p

I'm disappointed with the design. Will we ever get away from the 4/4S design? But the features are nice: A6 chip, panorama functionality, 3 speakers, wifi, LTE etc.

I have to think if this is worth the $$ upgrading. This probably means we have the same design for next year - disappointing...
 
I'm very thrilled with it. But in all fairness, this will be my first iPhone... So I'm not one who has stuck with the iPhone for years now and might not feel like this is a sufficient upgrade. However I can say that I honestly think that even if I'd already had an iPhone, I would still be excited about it. They've improved on basically all aspects of the phone. Isn't that what an upgrade is/should be? I know some people complain about it keeping the same general form factor but the form factor is one thing that's always drawn me to the iPhone. So I'm personally very happy about that aspect.

so what magical features were you hoping for? an extra 1/4" width in the screen? a different color housing? those things would mean Apple wasn't being "lazy"?

This a step above going from the 4 to the 4s.....Too bad my 4 broke during the hurricane. I will probably be getting it (unless i find a way to use the S3 with itunes & mac) but it's a verry VERRY small upgrade.
 
All in all is not a big bump from 4S, no wow factor at all.

Well i'm gonna get one for free anyway, like usual :p
 
Apple can launch the same iPhone 4S with one or two changes and the people will love it anyway. It's like a religion.
 
Happy, but there really is no innovation. Shrinking things, refining things, nothing new.
 
Does the front facing camera take better stills? or is it the same 1.3 MP.
 
Underwhelmed. Steve is definitely gone. It is now obvious Apple will suffer in his absence. Blah blah blah....:(

There was nothing particularly wow or out of place compared to upgrade. Sure theres the "Lightning Connector", but I was expecting a little more WOW like... "Look, now we've got NFC" or some crazy facial recognition system to unlock your phone, or some crazy innovation. Samsung could host an event like this and talk all about their hardware upgrades as well, but theres no real new innovation here.
 
They should have just called it the 4SL, for long.

You do realise that's it until 2014, it'll almost certainly be the 5S next. Now that's a depressing thought.
