    Hi,

I have an iPhone 5C here which appears to be water damaged, It won't turn on when plugged into the computer or the wall.

With the iPhones, if they don't turn on when plugged into the wall is it 100% buggered? Like is there any point trying to replace the battery at all or does plugging it into the wall bypass the battery all together?

    Cheers
    Matt

Nope, no battery bypass on iphones, all power it uses is supplied by the battery (hence the 5 minute boot up delay when charging a flat battery). You could buy a cheap battery just to test, and buy something better when it actually powers up. And if it doesn't you'll be out only 5 or so dollars. That's what I would do anyway.

So if the battery has screwed itself, it won't turn on as it is?

Do you think it's worthwhile replacing the battery, how likely is it to be the cause?

    Cheers
