iPhone 5s carrier model differences

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy an iPhone 5s in the US before I get back to Italy.
Looking on apple-tracker.com or on the Apple website I can see that Unlocked/T-Mobile version is usally unavailable but the Verizon and AT&T are available.

In addition to it, Verizon sells the phone unlocked for 649 on its stores.

Why can't I buy a full price off contract 5s in the Apple Store without it needing to be a T-Mobile one?

Shouldn't it be the exact same model? A1533 as listed on the apple website?
