I use protect my bubble, this is the first time I used them. Never filed a claim so I'm not sure how good they are, let's just hope if something do happen, they do come through

I cancelled applecare and went with squaretrade. Yes you can get it fixed/replaced at apple stores. The drawback is you pay apple the repair fee and squaretrade reimburses you back within 1-2 days. Squaretrade deducible is $50 vs applecare is $80. Also 4 replacements with squaretrade, you only get 2 with applecare. So squaretrade is a better value.

Filing a claim on your homeowners for a phone? Not something I will do unless my house was robbed. You're asking for higher rates if you go that route.

Research a Personal Articles Policy. I was told they don't apply to phones, but I have one for my laptop. Separate policy, won't affect regular insurance.

Difference is that Squaretrade doesn't extend the standard warranty.

With AppleCare+, for covered issues during the two years you can get service at an Apple store without ANY deductible.

I saved $20 a month until I had $260 saved up... Now if I ever have an issue barring losing my iPhone I can pay for an out of warranty replacement. I've only had one issue when I cracked my front screen when I had the iPhone 4. I had no qualms with paying for the replacement. I saved the $260 again and it's waiting. Only $260 spent for one replacement versus paying for warranties since the first iPhone. Worked well for me! Anybody else doing the same?

That's smart to actually put it aside.
