I have just bought a new iPhone 5s and I checked serial number before unboxing.
Production date is July 2014 and I'm not happy for the battery health.

Should I unbox it or it's better to return?

iPhone 5s is still in production.

I doubt the age has harm the phone's battery but if it bothers you, return it. If you get from the same place, you will likely get the same.
