Has anyone downloaded it for the iPhone 5s? has performance suffered? I'm reluctant on downloading it

Considering what past iOS releases have done to older devices I don't blame you for being cautious! That said Apple has actually put some effort into solving some of the performance issues with iOS and users of all supported devices are generally reporting that their devices feel zippier.
[doublepost=1473809338][/doublepost]My advice, go for it!

I installed it on my 5s and performance has not suffered so far. However, there are a few things in IOS 10 that is going to take some getting used to.

It seems much faster, battery life about the same as on iOS 9. Feels slightly warmer but that usually goes away after day or 2 after fresh update.

Been using it on my 5s for a month now without many problems. The final release is fine for the 5s

Did you do it? How do you like it? Any battery issues?
works great no issues and it's only slightly slower than my iphone 7
[doublepost=1478037842][/doublepost]far from unusable. its very stable and theres not much lag.. not much that i can say i'm disappointed with at all actually

I want to see how the 5s will perform on IOS 11.
I'm curious as to that also. My 5s has performed very well and I do not care about the larger size phones. Have toyed with going with the SE perhaps just to future proof for a few more updates. However, phones are no longer cheap.

I finally caved in a few days ago and decided to update after reading an overall favorable consensus about 5s and iOS 10. Can confirm that it runs smoothly and without any noticeable hiccups. However, it seems that my battery life has taken a significant hit and hasn't improved much after 'indexing' as most people say.

Change the battery ! If your battery is 2 years old or more
