So I got my iPhone 5S 64gb from sprint and today all of the sudden the touchscreen popped out in the upper right corner.

I have the insurance (yes sprint insurance now covers the iphone) but I don't want it fix I want a new one, even if I have to get a 32GB model.

Anyone had the same problem?

oh wow. I would go to apple, pretty sure normal warranty covers it. Sprint will get you a new one, may not ASAP, but they will

Never go to a carrier for something like this. Go to an Apple store, you will leave with a new one within a few minutes.

This isn't an insurance issue, this is a warranty issue. Make an appointment at the Apple Store, and they will replace it for you.

Yep! Sprint has not stock to swap it out, right now. People that have ordered are waiting a long time to get their phones, because they put all their stock in stores and sold out.

And as others have mentioned, it's a warranty claim, you'll get a replacement from Apple.

This happened to My iPhone 5 which was also Sprint. My warranty was up but they said it was a defect and they swapped it out for free. Of course, the had to order a new one and called me to swap them out 2 days later. I noticed it when I first purchase thru pre order but ignored it until 10 months later the entire screen lifted and I couldn't see anything except light leaking out.

I have seen some reports of this happening. Thank you for posting pictures. Perhaps an obvious question but did you try pushing it back down with a little force? If I recall the screen is held down with clips (plus the pentalobe screws at the bottom). Perhaps one wasnt seated all the way. If that doesn't work I don't see them having a problem swapping it; insurance shouldn't be needed.

In this case, perhaps. But it's not as easy as before. Apple is cracking down and focusing on repairing phones instead of simply replacing them.

From the pic, it looks like the glass is actually popping out of the plastic bezel, likely due to insufficient adhesion. This will probably have to be resolved by having the Genius replacing the screen or entire phone under warranty.

Well then they should focus on releasing the product without problems. I understand that any product that is made in mass amounts has duds and defects...

But if I got a phone that has a defect, I want a new one. Not a phone that had a defect that's now been fixed. I don't want my phone to be tinkered with. Out of the box, if it's not perfect, any customer should be able to demand/receive a new phone.

Really? That's odd. Their policy has always been that if its defective just replace it and send it back for refurb...not to attempt repair. It takes too long and ends up costing more.

The biggest announcement, was the way repairs for iPhones will be handled soon. The way it is now, if almost anything is wrong with an iPhone, iPod, or iPad, the entire device is exchanged for a like-new re manufactured (sic) device, whether brought into an apple store or sent in for mail in repair. Now we are starting to actually repair the products and return the same device to the customer.

If it really bothers you to get a "refurbished" one, you could return it outright and order a new one. Hassle for upgrade and wait.

Also, as others might point out, there are probably not any actual refurbished ones yet and they just put new ones in the refurbished boxes for now.

I tried to push it down to see if it clicked in place with no luck, this is a 1 day old phone and I paid $399 for it, Im not getting it fixed, I will ask for a new one for sure either sprint store or apple. Im going to the sprint store right now and see, if not tomorrow I will call apple.

Definitely just return it if they try to screw you. Then buy a new. Good luck

Damn that's not good. They'll definitely replace that at the Genius Bar.

There go my last-day-of-warranty new phone replacements ;)

Lol, I'm guilty. But I'm glad they're doing it. Regardless of how much money we know Apple has in the bank, we're still cheating them and it's not fair to them. They're going to save tons of money doing this.

Called ahead to the Sprint store and none in stock, yesterday they had (2) tough. Buttttttttt I went to the Apple Store and got a replacement real quick after waiting 1:40 hours for my reservation. I checked ALL the 5S's in the Demo tables and none had a screen popup issue and they are used ALOT (Millenia Mall Apple Store) busiest tourist store in Florida.

I saw the Apple cover and I like it but didnt had $40 to spent at the moment lol.

In front of me was this tourist lady from Brazil or Venezuela in her 30's buying 10 ipads, and 8 iphone 5c, sexy as hell, and a guy behind me was from latin america also and offered me $2500 for my iphone 5S 64gb, I said no ofcourse lol, I run my business with my phone, but the temptation was there.

Dang!

The same thing happened with my space grey 32. Noticed a pop sound now and again, and yesterday realised that the screen was exactly like yours, even the same corner!
Went to the apple store, and even though they didn't have any stock to sell, they had a couple for this sort of situation, brand new, box opened in front of me.
Replaced there and then, the new one is flawless!!

Im pretty sure if I twist the aluminum frame a little the screen will pop off again, Im buying a strong thin cover to reduce my chances.
