I just got it today and when I got home. There's a tiny black dot on the back of my gold iphone. Also, there is like a tiny dent/scratch mark near the charger area. I bought it at the AT&T store. Can I go to apple to exchange it or I have to go back to AT&T?

Will they let me exchange it?

A few years ago, I purchased my iPhone 4 at a Verizon store. I took the iPhone 4 back to apple for a problem 11 months later and they replaced it for me without charge. They never asked me where I bought the phone or anything.

That's different because it was most likely something under warranty. The op on the other hand most likely has to go to AT&T because he brought it from them and it is physical damage out the box.

If it is a minor damage, just keep it. It's going to scratch/dent anyway ....
