I think deliveries of silver and gold to stores has been limited recently. There have been some reports of stock but not much. I suspect that most of the stock being made was being sent to those who ordered online. I was in the Regent Street store today and asked the employee about silver stock and she said to me that the deliveries had been sporadic.

I don't think you need to get to Stratford that early but the early bird catches the worm and all that. The store opens at 10am but they have opened for iPhone sales early (usually from 9am) when they have had stock.

Good luck.

Thank you for that! I also think that's too early, but I was there last Wednesday before 9 am and even though they only open at 10, one of the employees told me they'd sold out at about 8.

However, I might wait a few more days and if it's still too hard to find a silver iPhone, resort to Three.

An update:

I was in London from Monday to Tuesday this week. Due to the bad weather, it was no train service from Stansted to London. Therefore i didn't get to the Apple Store (Reagent st. and Covent Garden) before around noon, and they had no phones. No deliveries that day.

On Tuesday we split in two, and went to each of the stores around 8 am. Neither of the stores got any deliveries of the 5S. The employee that came out said that "retail" had said they woulden't get any phones before around 2-3 week.

So now I'm back in Norway again ... waiting for the 5S expected at my door around the 13th.

I've been on Apple Store Regent Street on Saturday morning (10:30 AM) and they had many iPhone 5S, even plenty of Gold version in 32GB! So good luck everyone ;)

Having made the effort to arrive in the UK, why didn't you phone around some apple stores around the country? Im sure some less popular/busy Apple stores had greater chance of stock?

Finally got my Silver 5S 32GB from Stratford today! Got there at 9, but there was no need since they had plenty of stock (apart from gold and silver 16GB).
So it does seem like Apple Stores are finally being able to meet demand.

Just called stratford and they have stock generally each day but sell out of gold ones by 2pm usually. Haven't been able to reach Regent st.
