    You'll need the password - if you don't have it, chances are you shouldn't be trying to tether to that network.

    Its my own iPhone, i need to tethering to my ibook that cant acces to a network with password due my old airport card.

    Tyler23 - I think you misunderstand what he's doing.

    carloselvis - I don't believe you can make it not require a password on wifi. How old is that ibook that it doesn't support at least WEP? Have you looked at using bluetooth or USB for the tethering connection?

    If jailbroken you can try tetherme or pdanet or mywi.

    Can't you install one of those usb wifi adapters on your ibook so you can connect to every wifi and not just open networks.
