iphone 5s touch id dont work

yesterday i bought an 5s in great condition similar to new one. Then i realised that touch id not work. i cant turn on touch id in settings-there comes a massage saying: unable to connect touch id setup please try again.... i am lit dissapponted. the phone looks and works perfect but this!

When you go to 'Add a Fingerprint...' does it take you to the next screen where it says 'Place Your Finger'? And what happens when you place your finger on the Home button? It must give you a number of prompts to learn your fingerprint.

Here you may try possible fix to get rid of this issue.

have you tried a restore? if not, sounds like it could be a hardware error.
