iPhone 5s upgrade to ios 9?

I have an iPhone 5s running ios 7. Should I upgrade it to ios 9? I want to go back from my iPhone 6s to the 5s but when I try restoring the 6s backup onto the 5s, it won't show me the back up. Is there any way around this?
