My wife's iPhone 5s has a passcode on it, but she has to put in the number, and then there is the additional press of "ok". She is not using Touch ID as of now, just a passcode. Shouldn't it just unlock once the code is put in without pressing "ok"?

My iPhone 7 doesn't require the "ok", although I do have Touch ID turned on.

I think it is part of the iOS10 update so that you can see notifications. Not sure how to turn it off without using a fingerprint and turning on rest finger to open. On the 7 it can feel real fluid and you might not notice it especially if you click your home button to turn the screen on.
