A 128GB option would be nice but for me, my next phone will be 16 or 32 GB. I realize that carrying around my entire iTunes library is a waste. I never listen to all the songs so why even bother? Now I just make playlist or sync certain artists. Videos/Movies are the same thing.

Anyone paying attention to SSD tech knows that many drives are using NAND that are now at the 1Tb size, ie: 128 GB per chip.

I recently got a 120GB SSD for just $79.99 from Amazon (128GB NAND w/ 8GB reserved for over provisioning and error recovery, plus all the other bells and whistles of a 3rd-gen SSD).

Apple has been limiting their devices to just 16GB, and charging $100 for each additional 16GB. If a consumer can get 128GB of flash for $80, what do you think it costs Apple?

128 GB of storage is a requirement for many.
Who doesn't need access to tens of thousands of music tracks at every given moment nowadays? Or to so many games that a kid would look like an actual adult? Or tv shows and movies, that are a very enjoyable experience on 4 inches screens?

I'm guessing you are around your computer a lot and can sync to iTunes?

Wouldn't it be crazy if there were people out there that wanted to have a lot of media on there device because they might not have access to iTunes for weeks, months or even years (Military)?

Be even crazier if Apple had already recognized this mass media storage with the iPad!

May sound insane in your world but there are a lot of people out there that can't get data at times or have access to iTunes. The competition has recognized this for years with expandable storage for media. Apple has too with the iPad.

32 should be standard.

apps are getting bigger, music files are getting bigger, everything's getting bigger
People are also getting bigger in general. Due to bigger meals. Bigger iPhones would totally be stupid. Mega this, mini that. Why cant they just make a phone a phone and a tablet a tablet? SMH...

Those are extreme cases, that most certainly do not constitute Apple's or other companies' targets, and shouldn't.
The storage in iPad has nothing to do with storage in iPhone, due to their different screen sizes that define their roles.
iPhone is smaller as a matter of convenience, while iPad is regarded as a device more keen to wider experiences, as screen real estate allows for more enjoyable movies and games experience, for instance.
Linking iPhone and iPad storage sizes as a reference for what could be next does not constitute anything more than sheer speculation.

128GB Iphone 6

So, with less than a month before Apple announces all of the specifications of the new phones, are you convinced that there will be a 128GB version or will they stick with the 64GB version being the highest storage capacity. I think they are looking for massive sales and will be throwing everything into this next Iphoneto hit the home run that they want . What are your thoughts?

My 64gig iPhone5 has done pretty well for 2 years. Not sure I'd need 128 for another $100, but I'd sure be tempted.

They won't do it.

They have something called iCloud and with iOS 8, new pricing.

Personally, I'd love a 128GB version.

I really hope there is a 128GB version. When the first iPhone came out, it was available in 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB. That was okay at the time, but now with HD video, high rez photos, and more complex games/apps, I feel that 64GB should be the minimum option. I can fill up the storage of a 16GB iPhone 5s in one day of camera use or gaming.

I've never filled the 16gb of any of my iphones haha

You're saying 64gb is not enough? you have a problem ;)

I've never owned an iPhone where I didn't fill the capacity all the way. My current 64GB iPhone 5 included.

For most people yeah it's enough, apple is kind enough to offer up to 64gb, you're telling me, you need to carry 128gb of data with you at all times? lol

higher end should be 32,64,128
lower end 16,32

that is if they will keep the two different iPhones.

I don't believe in the second iPhone this year, so that's my guess

iPhone 6 32,64,128GB starting at 199$
iPhone 5s 16 99$
iPhone 5c 8 0$

I don't need 128GB, but I could use more than 16GB on my phone, so I hope they'll start with 32GB this time

Man, I remember rocking my original 8gb iPhone in 2007 (pre-app store), now I have the iPhone 5 with 64gb, and I want more.
