I have a colleague who purchased a few iPhone 6+'s on release date, including a 64GB AT&T that he paid $849 for. I'm interested in buying it from him. Does the full price that he paid indicate that the phone is unlocked?

If he bought the AT&T from the Apple store full priced, its unlocked.

If from AT&T, its locked.

Really? Full price, no contract?

What are you referring to exactly ?

Yes, unlocked if bought full-price from Apple, locked if bought full-price from AT&T.

It can easily be unlocked from AT&T if it were bought full price however, as AT&T will unlock it. Though not sure if they make you wait a certain period etc

So, did your buddy buy from Apple or carrier ?

Good question. I'll ask him.
