Quick question - on your iPhone 6 / 6S do you turn your ringer volume down or turn it off via the switch at the side when you don't want to be disturbed?

I'm in the habit of turning my down as I feel the switch at the side may become loose over time and will perhaps turn off when the phone is in my pocket.

I just use the switch as I never had any issues of having it loose overtime from my experience and over many years I've had the iPhone.

I've been using the switch with all of my iPhones and nothing has happened to either of them. It was meant to be used and not as show piece...

I just use the switch as I never had any issues of having it loose overtime from my experience and over many years I've had the iPhone.

Aside from my iPhone 4 and current 6S+, every single mute switch has been loose out of the box and due to this I don't use them as I consider them an accident waiting to happen. I use Assistive Touch anyway, and hit the mute/unmute icon on there. I also lock my screen from there too, and take screenshots. I rarely use any of my hard buttons, only the home button to initially wake the screen.

My experience with Apple buttons hasn't been a good one. :(
My iPhone 5 had loose and rattling mute/power/both volume buttons out of the box and my 6+ had a loose & rattling mute switch. The power button also became loose over the 10 months I had it so for me iPhone buttons are crap. Hence why I avoid using them, the vibe they give me is a disappointing one. As my 6S+ buttons and mute switch are all super-tight refraining from using them will allow them to remain that way.:D:oops:
