Since the iPhone 6 hasn't been around for years and isn't compatible with the old style chargers described in that article, it doesn't apply. Again, there has been nothing stated in the thread that would support those assumptions.

Um, what? The iPhone 6 most certainly does work with all older styles of chargers. I'm not talking about cables, but the actual bricks themselves.

As for the brick, why would anyone buy a new iPhone 6 and use an older knock-off brick instead of the new brick that comes with the iPhone 6? That doesn't make any sense. There is nothing at all to indicate the OP is using any cable or brick other than that which came with their new iPhone 6. Your assumptions that this could be the source of the OP's issues is completely unfounded.

Yes i was using the OEM brick and OEM cable. And yes it doesnt make sense for anyone to use the old brick with a new cable. My brother has the same iphone 6 and its possible i used his brick instead of mine, but they are both the OEM bricks that came with the iphone. My phone prior was an galaxy s4 and prior was an iphone 4s which i gave away along with the charger cable and brick. I also dont buy knock off charger stuff, unless apple stores sells them which i assume then are ok to use.

After all this, i did forget to mention that i put a tempered glass, but my brother has had the same one on his longer than mine and never had any issues. This tempered glass maybe a knock off idk.. Could that be the cause? Why wouldnt it act up more all over the screen? Its on amazon called JETech. Not sure if that can be the cause, but i dont see how.

My phone was plugged in and sitting on a table and i was using it flat on the table.

What makes you assume they're using a counterfeit charger? The OP has already stated they bought their iPhone new and they are using the Apple-branded charging cable. The article you linked is about counterfeit iPad chargers. The OP is discussing an iPhone 6, not an iPad, and certainly not an old style charger as described in that article.

OP also stated 8.3 was hacked.

When you say "OEM", do you mean the genuine Apple charger that came with the phone?

Also, did you buy the phone new?

I'm not so sure you know.

I don't think English is the OP's 1st language and I can only see 2 references to the charger:

No i only use apple branded cable, but it was plugged in. Does that matter?

And

Now, to me OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer, but I've seen plenty of people use the term to describe 3rd party chargers and I can't see anywhere the OP says he/she got the phone brand new from Apple or a network provider, just

Also, OP says the charger is "Apple branded", which also makes me wonder.

[Edit] - Although OP does imply he/she bought an additional charger by saying:

I also dont buy knock off charger stuff, unless apple stores sells them which i assume then are ok to use.

But I don't think we have a definitive answer to "brand new phone from Apple/network provider" or "definitely using 100% genuine Apple charger when problem occurred".

The OP's posts are clear, unless you're trying to read an interpretation into them that wasn't intended. The OP bought a new iPhone and is using the Apple adapter and cable that came with it, or an Apple adapter and cable that came with their brother's iPhone. The OP specifically stated they don't buy adapters or cables that aren't sold at Apple stores.

Unmm because it's already plugged in where you like to charge your phone and you want to keep the new one in the box so it's in good condition when you go to sell it. Because that is exactly what I did, and it makes perfect sense to me.

Even if he is using the one that came with the phone, assumptions that the issue is charging brick/cord related are certainly not unfounded because the exact behavior OP has described is known to happen with 3rd party chargers. So maybe it is the original charger that is malfunctioning for whatever reason.

Here... This is an older video, but the first one I came too. There are tons of examples online.

Hi guys. I think my iphone got hacked.

I was in imessages and it suddenly started to act on its own.

I was in a chat on imessage then on its own it went back then scrolled and opened another message. After it went back again scrolled and opened another message. In this one the guy scrolled up in the message then selected a text to copy. Then it went back again to the messages list and hit edit. Then selected the first and third messages to delete.

After i backed the phone to the home screen and powered it off. After i powered it on again i did.a reset with the power and home button.

Ive read about phantom touching and that the iphone cant be hacked or there isnt any hacks, but this looked more purposeful and didnt have repetative actions. It was scrolling, selectibg, long touch to enable copy option, and selecting on different parts on the phone like the edit button and selecting different messages.

Please help, i'm a little freaked out since there is location on the phone and personal info.
Thanks!

Hi Remythic, this just happened to me today and that's how I found your post. Were you able to get legitimate help? I stopped looking through the board after the first page, looked like you weren't getting any help. Please let me know if you were able to identify the issue. In my case, my email was being scrolled through, links clicked, my camera opened, and so were my financial apps. Thanks in advance for your response.

Why would you not immediately turn off your phone if someone was accessing your email and financials??? Are you looking to be compromised?

Typically phantom touch is caused by certain screen protectors or knock off/faulty chargers and charging cables.

Controlling the device is much more sophisticated of a hack then just stealing the actual data, so it literally makes no sense for a hacker to be doing that.

I had similar behavior with my iPhone 6. It was a faulty screen, and was resolved by having the phone replaced. The iPhone simply has no capability to be hacked in the way you think you saw.

Using an unofficial charger cable can cause stuff like this.

Interesting... I'll look into that. It happened once I was off WiFi -- no apps requiring a password were logged into; email and camera were opened. Thank you both for your insights.

The NSA and GCHQ can easily access our phones , but i very much doubt that was happening here.

Most likely software/hardware bug.

Guys, OP left May 7th and has not returned (Over 6 months ago). New guy with confusing issue for him and he probably figured it out.

Maybe someone was trying to prank the OP. It is possible to control your iphone remotely. It has to be jail broken and the person trying to control it remotely has to run a specific software.

The OP already stated that their phone is not jailbroken.
