What worries me about this kind of "improvements" in shipping is that Apple is probably producing so much iphones so quickly that the chances of getting a faulty device is extremely likely.

Of course, customer in Europe and USA are very luck they can return anything they buy. People living else where do not enjoy this service. The unit has to be no functioning so you can return it. You are not supposed to complain about issues like weak battery, poor wifi antennas, washed out colors, dead pixels, etc.

At this point, I would wait for the 7.
That's what I'm waiting for. The 6+ will hold me over until then.

Extremely likely? Remind me never to be on an airplane with you. You'd be yelling so loud about the chances of a mid-air collision that I wouldn't be able to sleep.

I totally understand buying a phone outright so that you own it outright.

But what does a Verizon iPhone being unlocked get you?

You can't use a Verizon phone on any other carrier, right?

Or can you?

The nice Apple lady on launch day was pointing out to the many Asian/Eastern European people in the long line that the Verizon version was unlocked and was able to be used worldwide. Yes - it works for both Verizon and GSM.

With all the line-stuffing, I did not manage to get one that day.

I got one later but that day was a pretty sour experience.

This is a tragedy for this forum. Think of all the Apple owner haters here who will have less to complain about, now.

I think we should pass a hat or something.

I was due to a 128G iPhone 6 plus on day 1 from T-mobile. They screwed up my order, so I didn't get it. I got an iPhone 6 instead after 1 week.

Got my iPhone at Sprint in October. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Me: "Hey, do you have a 16 gb iPhone 6 in stock."
Sprint person: "Yes, you made it just in time. We have about 3 left."
Me: "Cool"

I feel sorry for all who ordered online or waited at the Apple Store. :apple:

Well I preordered online and got mine on launch day lol

You do realize that all iPhones in the Apple store are unlocked?

Locking is part of the carrier activation process to check if they "own" the iPhone as part of a contract.

Didn't realize that, good call!

Ya right now I have a T-Mobile SIM in it now and all seems to be working fine and I'm getting fast LTE speeds to boot.

You could always just buy the iPhone full price from Apple and insert the AT&T SIM.

This is what I did for my business line - I supply my own device because my company upgrades us incredibly slowly and I wanted to try both devices out. So I just bought a 6 outright on launch day.

Let me guess. You're a glass half empty sort of guy.

I am the kind of guy that will lose his $500 investment if he got a defected model. and at 600,000 iphones manufactured a day, thats more likely to happen.

All I am saying is, I hope increased production does not affect the quality control of production

Detailed list at http://orderobsession.com/ ... since times are greatly improving, I will be turning it off after new

This web site is flat out wrong. My phone was ordered October 20th and it is said to be delivered by December 19th. They just pushed back the ship date two more weeks today. If you were to order now you still couldn't possibly get it before Christmas.

I eventually got my 128GB 6 plus. I had to compromise on the colour but I got the capacity I wanted in the end.

If you're near an Apple store, you probably could just walk in and get one at this point.

Not sure how you get that more models, means more defect. If every line's the same, same material, same parts, same training, same QA's and same time to assemble, you get the same product. That's the difference between amateurs (you and me making a phone) and a company which is able to produces 600K products a day.

Not if you have a "premier business plan" with ATT. It's not allowed. I am forced to wait for many moons for the mail. How is this "Premier"?

I don't specialise in manufacturing but its my understanding that there is always going to be an error no matter how perfect your process is. All you can do is try to keep it on a minimum.

The more and faster your produce something the more likely it will contain a defect, and I do not think there is anything else in the world that gets produced 600,000 times a day unless its like a nails factory I guess.
