Hi all,
So my iPhone 6 battery needs replacement ever since my last ios upgrade few months ago (so irritating because it worked perfectly before the upgrade). Currently a full charge drains within less than an hour of light use.

My question: how crucial is it to replace it with an original Apple battery? apparently Apple is out of stock and the wait estimate is 2-5 weeks which is a long time without a functioning battery.
Should I just replace with a non-original battery?

Thanks

I would absolutely wait for Apple to do it.

First off, you’re guaranteed the battery will be genuine and will play nice with your phone.

Also, there are many things that can potentially go wrong when replacing a battery, especially one that has degraded to the point of yours and is possibly slightly swollen.

My mom just went in to get her battery replaced in her 1.5 year old 6s, and they said that replacing the battery on her particular case would cause damage to the phone, so they gave her a new phone.

I say wait.

Can't beat that for good customer service! We occasionally read about someone who is not satisfied with Apple customer service, but overall they're the best. Now if you want to talk about customer service and cable companies...
