Why can't it have an improved OIS 13 MP camera that's optimized properly? The sensor needs to see more pixels to keep people happy when they upgrade yearly.

To me...the camera is one of the most important upgrades! I use my iPhone canera much more then my DSLR!

It's probably the biggest thing that Apple gets right each iteration. If the 6 didn't have mediocre specs and I was looking for a new phone, I would consider it, but my S5 has a great camera with its "Isocell Tech." Idk what it means, but the camera is amazing. It worked really when on my vacation last month and people were amazed with the quality. I had a better selection than my family's other smartphones and some of their digital cameras.

my heart says apple will keep going with 8MP in the new iPhone 6. but i am sure that will really not effect any more in demand of iPhone 6.

8MP are more than enough for a mobile device.
What I want is better lens, OIS and bigger pixels on the sensor. That way they can enhance the camera quality, adding MP is just marketing

If the rumors are true and the camera lens does stick out you can guarantee there will be big improvements other than megapixels. There is no way they would have a camera lens stick out of the phone unless it offer a major boost

OR it is cheaper to make a phone with this ring around the camera lens vs one with a flush camera like the 5/5S.

I bet it'll stay the same. And the tech sites and Samsung will bash apple for it.

It will be deserved criticism. Much like the 1GB of RAM rumor.

Go tell Nikon, Canon and Leica this. They have been doing it all wrong

No one needs a higher MP camera on a phone. All this will do is hog up more valuable memory.

MP alone don't mean squat. A piece of crap 20MP camera is just that, a piece of crap camera that takes huge piece of crap pictures. My old Canon Elph, 5mp, will walk all over the the cameras in phones today. It's about optic and sensor quality.
