iPhone 6+ Car Mount

Im after a car mount that doesn't stick to, or keep my handset up in front of the windscreen. I like my handset to be on or near the centre console instead.

Do you use anything similar that you recommend?

I have this unit, I drive around in a 2008 Honda Civic, this has a long nose and I can't mount a stand in the windshield. I have the unit below fixed to my glove compartment and extend it out. It perfectly positions my phone at hand distance. It sticks on solid to the glove compartment and at $18+tax works very well.

Last I saw they were shipping preorders mid October. No idea when new orders would go out. I've used Proclip for ages and love the fact that you only need to get a new phone mount when you get a new phone and you use the car mount part you already have. http://www.proclipusa.com

I have been using the sane ram mount universal mount since my iPhone 4. I permanently mounted it to my Jeep's dash and it works perfectly still with iP6 and 6+. http://www.rammount.com

Nice design, but I've read the part that attaches to the vent loosens over time?

I'm getting a cup holder adapter and buying a iOttie car mount. Like this I can have it out of my field of vision when driving but I can still see it at red lights.

I have the iOttie and another similar that I bought at amazon. I don't have the 6 or 6s yet but plan on using the ones I have. both secured to the windshield.

I didn't like the HVAC vent blowing over the phone.

If you can wait another month or so, take a look at the Radmo mount. It uses the cd slot of your car stereo to secure your phone. I just ordered the mini-tablet/GPS version which will fit my iPhone 6 Plus and even my iPad Mini Retina. It's $25 and due to ship in November.

I like www.quadlockcase.com (not just a case!).

The adaptor is unsightly, but the ease of using it in car/on bike outweighs that for me.

I bought the Universal Adjustable Brodit/Proclip mount 511479 for my 6 Plus. There is a tiny gap depth wise as my cheap gel case is very thin but I think it will fit perfectly when my nice leather case arrives.

For those wishing to have their phone away from the windscreen, there are usually several options available for most cars, I have attached the options that were available for my car.
