I prefer clear cases, but all the clear cases I've bought don't stay clear.

For my 5s, I had a Switcheasy Numbers white matte case. After six months it was an ugly brownish green color. Then I bought an SGP Ultra Hybrid crystal clear case, but the TPU bumper areas have started to turn yellowish brown.

I keep my hands very clean. I'm almost a clean freak. But my clear cases still changed color.

I'm picking up an iPhone 6 soon. Do you guys know of any clear cases that do not change color or pick up dirt over time?

Your best bet is the clear or matte polycarbonate or plastic cases not TPU.

The problem is with the cases that are TPU. My favorite case for my iPhone 5 was a white TPU case. Unfortunately it would pick up staining in no time and couldn't be cleaned. Tried everything but nothing worked. Did a little research and found the TPU has properties that allow the material to absorb easily but it won't release - thus no ability to clean. Now on the other hand, good quality silicone can have a very similar feel in hand but also can be cleaned. I know you are interested in clear and not white but I have the Apple silicone case in white and after a month still looks brand new.

That was a very helpful response, thank you! Do you have any recommendations for iPhone 6 clear/matte polycarbonate cases?

If you are looking for thin and scratch protection only, then Caudabe and Shumuri make the super thin cases which won't yellow or stain. Ringke slim cases without the logo cutout are polycarbonate -at least the colored ones. They do show a clear but not sure if it's the same material or TPU. You might want to email them and ask. The other issue for a clear polycarbonate case that's not matte is it will show every scratch. The light colored ones also will scratch but really aren't noticeable.

You can see the Caudabe and Ringke on Amazon. The Shumuri has their own website.

I'm also on the hunt for the elusive clear, non-yellowing case. Does the Zoogue frosted case yellow? It says dense TPU on the website...I have one in red, and it definitely feels like different material from another clear TPU case I had a few months ago (Best Buy's brand Insignia) that yellowed pretty quickly.

6 months with the Verus clear case on my iPhone 6 and still nice and clear. No yellowing and no dirt. Currently $12 on Amazon here:

Spigen Ultra Hybrid in crystal clear, loved it until putting it in my jeans pocket for a while, upon removal it was full of tiny hair and dust.. Took it off immediately as it looked disgusting.

I had the Switcheasy Numbers in white/frost and after a few months, the sides turned a brownish color (which I assumed would happen over time). Luckily they replaced it for free under warranty. I decided to just go with black instead...As others have mentioned, polycarbonate won't yellow, but it scratches easily.

I've had the same problem with all the cheap ebay cases I've purchased. It doesn't sound as if there's a solution so think I'll just buy another pile of them and replace every few months. Not very green of course.
