So, this can't have anything to do with color because all the internals are the same across all of a given device.

Only internal variances are for storage size.

Never mind that this is likely a very very very small issue, if it's a manufacturing thing at all and not caused by some sort of external force to the device causing it.

64gb SG iPHone 6. mine is very loose,

it never had 5S so I didn't know it was an issue, but it's starting to annoying me very much whenever i have to click it

Mine isn't loose. It does kinda pop on occasion. I could probably take it to the Apple store and traded in, but really it's okay. I bought two other iPhone 6's is at the very same time and both of their home buttons are perfect.
Mine is close enough - it works every time - so I'm not gonna a worry about it.
I really like this new phone it works so much better than any of the other Apple phones That I've owned.
Soooo freakin fast!

Glad I'm not the only one having this issue. My SG 6+ button has been loose for about a month, but it's very inconsistent. Also, no one else in my household seems to "feel" this problem. I guess only the owner knows best to notice the looseness. With more usage, I'm waiting for it to be more consistent and reliably reproduced before bringing it to the Apple Store.

Good try, but no.
Home buttons are not designed to be loosey after you open the box. Maybe after 6 months

In my opinion, apple should reverse reachability and multitasking taps. It would not help if the home buttons are defective but multitasking would stress the button less.

Use Assistive Touch. I used it from new on my i5 and am continuing that trend with my i6. Apple buttons just don't stand up to repeated pressing in my experience (3GS and i4).

My home button has been perfect for a month but today for the first time when I push it it seems like it wants to stick. Push a little harder I feel a click and it works fine. I don't like it feeling that way.
Anybody else have a sticking home button? It stays in a holster. NO liquids ever anywhere close. I've got a 64 GB iPhone 6, 4.7 in space gray.
What a fantastic phone! Darn home button...
UPDATE:
I've done nothing. The popping feel simply disappeared after couple of days. I guess it was a piece of grit that is been dislodged now.
Happy Camper here. What a great phone!! This is definitely the best iPhone that I have had so far and I've had them all.

I had the space gray iPhone 6 and I moved up to the 6+ and have had no issues with either home button.

i know what you're doing. its normal and only happens sometimes you're barely touching it to feel for it on purpose to see if it happens.... it happened on my 5s and it was never a problem unless i was intentionally trying to do it, and it'll happen once or twice then go away. you're looking too hard. and apple won't replace it because of that. stop being anal about your phone

I had this issue for about 3 days then it miraculously fixed itself. I have no idea why, I'm worried it's going to come back again.

I think I have the solution....my 6(gold) home button a bit loose after few days I used it.I pushed the metal trim around the home button then it works. It returned hard and sturdy

I'm on my 5th iPhone 6 plus 64gb space grey handset, all have had home button issues seems like t collapses in and goes soft and hardly clicks, now today this ones done it too will be visiting my local Apple next week to have an annoyed changeover again....

Are you one of those people who pushes buttons too hard, and too deep? My mum is always breaking buttons, she rams them in :)
My 6+ home button is firm and clicky. The rest of the phone is terrible but the button is fine...

Not at all I'm very soft and carful with my devices this one seems to have a problem though

This ONE seems to have a problem? You mean all 5 of your iPhones have had problems since you admitted you've gone through 5 iPhones. No offense, but I do believe you simply have OCD and have probably replaced your phone for things that dont even exist. Every time I've gotten an iPhone it's perfect straight out of the box and I can fully admit to being super OCD and anal retentive. Do yourself a favor and understand that nothing is perfect, it's a cell phone. Calm down, stop replacing them and wasting resources over nothing. I know there are instances where iPhones are damaged out of the box or arent working properly, but the same user going through 5 cell phones, that makes me believe it's not the PHONE but the PERSON.

My iPhone 6+ home button seems loose. Touch ID function is still fine and scans my finger very quickly buy when I put my finger on it I can feel it moves down and up a little bit ( I swear I didn't press it). Just got this phone for less than one week. Sorry for not posting pics I don't think a picture can demonstrate such issue.

Anyone?

Hi,
Mine feels the same. It is not always but it's after a few hours when I use it, it presses down a little bit and then the full click. I was told it's because the new iPhones have fingerprint ID so have multiple layers. Did not notice before but I have had it for about 9 months now. Maybe if I use one at a store I will see. But it's not causing a malfunction.
I suppose the layers separate a little when not in use for 4-5 hours.

Defective piece ! From where did you purchase the phone? Online or Offline? If Offline, then better! You can go to the store from where you bought it and you may explain him the fault and replace it with other phone. If online, then my friend, you may go with the lengthy process ! I know someone who bought it from Flipkart Mobiles and had some same issue. I had to go with 2 days process to get a new one !!

Hey try to few more days, see if it get fixed automatically !

I'm start to thinking whether it's my fault when it comes to mine, I never thought I had this issue before.

Nonsense.

Same here.
It could also depend if the phones screen was ever replaced considering there is a rubber gasket that holds the seal and stability of the home button, and if the seal is taken off, the adhesive is not quite as strong and is a reason home buttons are sometimes loose.
