Has anyone actually tried rubbing some leather protector on the case? curious to see if it helps?

Yes, I put leather protector on both (black & red) of my apple leather cases. I am a leather junkie and I treat all of my leather with some kind of protector. Yes, it helps...

If you do not treat your leather it will bubble from moisture. It happens on all leather, not just Apple leather cases. Anytime water sits on leather it will eventually absorb into the leather causing a bubble. I had a pair of Alden shoes that I wore right out of the box (untreated). It rained later that day and by the time I got home the shoes were bubbled up. From then on I ALWAYS protect my leather pieces as soon as I purchase them.

Had the same case on my iPhone 5s year later still looks new. It never blistered up like my 6 case does.

Same. Never had any problems with the leather case for my 5s, and I always wiped it down with a disinfectant wipe at the end of each day. Probably not the best solution for cleaning my phone, but again no problems. After a week of using the leather case for my 6, the one side is beginning to slightly bulge outwards closer to the edge of the screen. I've also noticed several small air bubbles on the back of the case.

Returned it yesterday and picked up the silicone black/ grey. Much better fit and grip. Leather one did not fit right and I swapped out 3 of them- all the same and all would blister after a day's use.

My black case has the same problem.

It's not so much a problem as a natural characteristic of leather.

I had a look at the silicone cases in the Apple store the other day. They had a bunch of them out, unboxed, on a table display. I was pleasantly surprised by them. Very nicely engineered. It's definitely not the cheap "jelly" silicone from the iPhone 3g (and earlier) era.

The colors are lacking, however - and I think that's deliberate.

I've never seen this on any leather case or item I have purchased. I guess its possible I got the case wet, but I do not recall this at all. My replacement comes tomorrow so I guess I will have to be more careful, because the blistering looks awful.

More so then look horrible - feels bad

Had my leather case over yr now dealt w bubbling now - can't stand anymore.

Shop for new case? Don't feel like paying $50 for new one
