Don't the Nexus tablets cost less than the companion Nexus phones?
My guess is that it just costs more to make the same device smaller. And, of course, it's a phone as well.

Nah, fountain drinks and French fries even bigger cash cow for the food sector.
iPhone has more technology in it and in a smaller package....I don't understand why this surprises you its always been like this more or less....
The iPhone 6 Plus is smaller (same or better in smaller package costs more, I thought everyone knows that?), it's thinner, has a higher PPI screen, and can make phone calls. In my testing the battery life also lasts longer than the iPad Mini Retina, and it even has a faster A8 processor. Lastly the camera is higher quality in the Plus with true tone flash and optical image stabilization.
