Hello everyone,

My Apple 6 Plus (received in mid November) is having the dreaded unable to focus/blurry rear camera issue. Apparently Apple is aware of the problem and this is quite common.

I have a Verizon phone, and they will only replace the phone with a refurbished model... Does anyone have any experience with a Verizon refurbished device? Are they ok? New outer case and battery? My iPhone is in spotless shape and has been in a case since day 1. I take excellent care of it.

Or, would I be better served to work with Apple instead (I live 2 hours from an Apple store.. Verizon will ship me a refurbished replacement iPhone)...

I'd appreciate any advice that anyone cares to pass along! Thanks!

In a house.
This is a bummer. I would schedule an appointment with Apple and get a new iPhone replacement. The phone is only 3 months old and Verizon is only giving you a refurb? I know that is a drive for you but I would rather make a day of it if I could and go to the Apple Store or raise some fuss with Verizon. Sorry I have no experience with Verizon.

Have you updated to the latest version of iOS, 8.1.3 and do a full restore?

I had this issue recently; they resolved it by replacing the camera and not the entire phone, which took about an hour.

Here
I have had my 6+ for a couple if weeks but have only just noticed this issue. Tried a reset, tried a full restore as a new phone and nothing has helped.
It's as if it will not focus properly.
I have an appointment booked with my local Apple Store on Saturday where hopefully they will replace the phone.
It's most annoying, especially as I am currently on holiday in Rome and am unable to take photos with my phone. Luckily my fiancé has a 6 which we are sharing for photo duties. Still bloody annoying though.

There are 3 Apple stores in Rome, all of whom can replace the camera module for you!

I did look online at the apple stores here in Rome, but being here only for a few days and having so much planned, it was never going to be possible.
I am not sure how much better my pictures would have been anyway as my fiancé has done a great job so far. Just don't tell her. Ha ha.
Replacement handset or camera module in Saturday when I return to the UK will do. My local Apple Store is just that, local.

OP, did you get your phone sorted?

I managed to get my handset replaced this morning at Apple. They suggested that they could replace the camera which would take an hour, but I was in a rush so told them I would rather replace the handset, which they agreed with immediately.
As always, faultless service form them, and now a lively working camera.

Do you think it was just 8.3? I doubt a software update could just create a hardware issue. Downgrade to 8.2 and check. Or take a risk with 8.4 beta 1 (can always downgrade).
