I've been wearing my iPhones on belt clips for years. Is the 6 Plus going to be too darned big for that? Any users with any experience so far?

I don't think it's too big. I think you might even see a resurgence of belt clips now, what with difficulty of people keeping such a large phone in their pocket, and some even claiming that doing so is bending the phone.

I've attached a pic of me wearing it on a clip, for reference. That is the 6+ btw.

I'm not huge, but not really skinny either. Pretty average size and about 5'11" height, with admittedly decent sized love-handles. Unless you just have a very round belly and wear your pants low where it hangs out over it, you shouldn't have much trouble wearing one of these on your belt.

That looks great! Is it easy to grab for photos, quick use etc? That's been a knock against it in some blogs, that it's too inconvenient for snapping that quick photo.

It's no more difficult than any other phone on a clip accessory would be, at least I don't think so. If anything, the larger size gives you more area to grab onto while you unlatch it from the clip, so it feels more secure pulling it out.

This one has a case that fits in the clip, and the case looks just fine on the phone by itself too without the clip. So I could easily slip it in my pocket if I wanted to go without wearing it on my belt. It's nice to have the option to wear it on the clip if I want to though, especially if I'm wearing pants with shallow pockets or when I go for a run and don't feel like holding such a huge phone in my hand the whole time.

Glad to hear it. What's your clip/case setup?

It's a Platinum Case/Holster combo from Best Buy. Kind of generic, but the Spigen case I have on order looked to be about the same size as this one, so I'm hoping it'll work with the clip as well.

Why not get some of those football pants with removable pads? Lots of room for iPhones, iPads, lunch, etc.

Waiting for my holster to come in from Amazon this week. Mine is vertical as I can grab more easily.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00M086W98/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1411459171&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70

Can yours turn vertical or is horizontal the only way? Price?

It can turn either way. I think it was $35 for the case/clip combo.

However, the clip looks like it could be used with just about any sufficiently thin case, so I'm hoping I'll get some mileage out of it past this one case.

Funny I saw this thread because yesterday we saw someone walking about outside with a Plus on their belt clip at work. We found it pretty hilarious being how big it is.

    BTW - I have a Plus...

I really wanted the 6 Plus because the bigger screen would be great for reading, typing, and the longer batter life would be welcomed. I don't care about using the phone with one hand, but I was/am concerned with the phone would work on a belt clip.

I wont carry a phone in a shirt pocket or pants pocket. Those don't work for me.

I went to Best Buy and looked at the 6 Plus belt holsters and I clipped one on, and it look just like Dookie's picture.

I don't worry about appearances much, but I did think the phone was too big looks-wise (oh, there's that phone guy again... oh, his phone arrives 5 minutes before he does...). lol

Aside from the looks, the front and rear jut out from the body a fair amount. I would be paranoid catching it on something, when I get in and out of the car, or chairs, etc.

I am not knocking anyone's else's decision. It just looked like wearing the Plus around would be more trouble than it is worth, for me. I went ahead with the 6, but still read these threads because I keep hoping to see a good/safe solution for carrying the plus. I am open to a phone swap in the next 7-10 days. :)

I'm glad folks are posting their belt holster experience here. I think it is helping a lot of folks that are still on the fence.

Of course it looks ridiculous. Wearing ANY phone on a belt clip looks ridiculous, and it has ever since the early days when it was done out of necessity because the phone was too big to even fit in your pocket.

But the point of wearing a belt clip isn't to look cool, it's utility. If you're wearing your phone on a belt clip, you could probably care less about how you look or what others think about it. It's convenient, it's easier than fishing it in and out of your pocket, and you can wear it even when you're wearing clothes without pockets (like when I'm working out).

So sure, it looks silly and ridiculous. My response to that is: So what?

    Plus didn't work for me

I'm glad some of you have been able to make the plus work for you on a belt clip, but I sure couldn't get used to it. I've been buying and using Apple products since the late 1970s and the plus is the first one I've ever returned. Just was not comfortable on my belt. My launch day 6+ is on its way back to Apple & I'll order a 6 soon. Just my experience-- your mileage will vary.

    I chickened out

After reading everything I just couldn't go through with my purchase of the plus, and I'm glad I canceled my order. I picked up an iPhone 6 at a local Apple retail store and I love it. It's plenty big for my purposes (sometimes a bit too big) and a great upgrade from my iPhone 5 (I still use that for some purposes and kind of miss it). Bought a great belt clip from Amazon and now I'm living the dream.

    ----------

BD, I sure don't think I look cool wearing my belt clip, but if it's too big and unwieldy that would undercut the utility, that was my concern.

I use the PDAIR vertical holster with belt clip as it accommodates my iPhone 6 plus with the Apple Leather case on it.

Lol, too big. You have to be over 40 to think it's okay to wear on your belt.

    I'm 57, so I guess I'll be ok. :)

Actually, that's one of the better things about getting older, caring less each year about what other people think of me.

I don't care either. I'm just saying it is an age marker.

I had forgotten his thread. I went and preordered the 7plus yesterday. I guess now that being 60 is in sight I'm willing to put on the bigger belt clip. Any recommendations?

I like the Best Buy Pt case too. very slim. Yes the plus is too large for a belt clip. Looks like an iPad mini everytime I see one:)
