I have a phone the same size as the plus, and my parents recently bought me an iPad mini retina for my birthday. I love it to bits but the thing is; don't you think its too much?
I'm asking this because I have double English tomorrow and we read for two hours; so I'd prefer reading on the iPad. But if I've got a big phone already why do i need to get the tablet?
I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

I have an iPhone 6 and an iPad mini retina. I still take the mini out as I prefer the bigger screen to surf and read. I use the 6 for e-mail and of course as a phone.

I still take my mini out with me on my commute. Before I had the 6 plus I had the note 3 and still used a mini. I think you get used to the large screen after a while and realise that it's still a phone. I prefer the larger screen for watching videos. However the excellent battery life and access to my iTunes content makes it more compelling as a portable tablet than the Galaxy note ever was.

I have an iPhone 6 Plus and a 1st gen iPad mini. I still take my iPad to work with me on night shifts, mostly for watching TV and playing online poker during my breaks.

Generally though it stays at home and my 6 Plus is my daily companion.

I have both as well. While the 6 plus screen is large, the mini is still much larger. I can't imagine relying on my 6 plus for general content viewing.

For young eyes, like yours, the plus might be fine. Once you hit 40, every little bit of screen size helps ;-)

I've had a mini in the past, but I can definitely say that now with an iPhone 6 plus, there is no way I'd even entertain getting a mini. Even more, I'm finding my iPad air to be more or less redundant. Yes, there are things the iPad air does that are better, and yes, I do notice the difference. However, I find the iPhone 6 plus to do those tasks "good enough" to the point where I don't want to carry around an extra device. Now the super size of the iPad pro coming up may make an iPad useful for me again, but we'll see. What I'd like to see is an even bigger phone, perhaps a 6" screen.

I currently have both and I would say one major barrier to the 6 Plus is that most apps still can't do a landscape mode. Also the screen is a lot small than the iPad Mini when you want to view videos or read books and textbooks so for now I'll have to keep the iPad mini. I was kind of hoping I would be able to sell it once I got the Plus.

The difference between 5.5 and 7.9 doesn't sound like a lot. But remember that the length is measured diagonally. The mini is a 4:3 device and the 6 plus a 16:9 device. So the 7.9 stretches wider on the mini than it would if that 7.9 were applies to a 16:9 screen. Ultimately, that means there's appreciably more surface area on the iPad mino vs the 6 plus. Completely different experience.

6+ and mini 3 is my combo. Love the Plus and use it on the go for work email, Twitter, reading, surfing etc but my preference when drinking a cup of coffee or sitting on couch at night is by far the Mini over the Plus.
