I don't have small hands and the 6 is too large. The 6 does not fit well in a pocket (minority view) and is definitely not one-handed, at least compared to a 5s. It's just unwieldy for anyone on the go and anyone in major cities who ever use public transportation. I'm a realist though. Let's face it, the 4" phone is a dying breed after next month when Apple officially kills the 5s. I thought that we'd stop this screen enlargement nonsense at 5 inches, but now the moto x is 5.7 inches! Is there no end in sight? Let's just call it what it is: innovation in smartphones has stagnated for now, so manufacturers are substituting gigantic screen sizes just because it's something new and shiny.

I get how lots of women carry purses, etc....but what about guys? If we can bring back holsters on the side of belts, I could deal with a larger phone. But it would not kill Apple to simply offer 3 sizes. It's how tons of products work: small, medium, large. Apple used to get this with its computers. 13, 15, 17 inch. Now the ipad mini, ipad, ipad pro. But for their most successful product, the iphone, they can't seem to bring themselves to the small, medium, large french fries and coffee concept. In fact the one product where they should be differentiating into small medium large is the iphone since it's their money maker. There will be far more people who want that choice in a phone than those who care about the size difference in a tablet or computer. Yet they've got the most choices in everything but a phone.

I think the 5s will probably be sold for one more year -- isn't that the usual pattern? -- and then they'll probably introduce a new 4" phone next year (that's just speculation).

Came straight from 5S to 6+. Maybe got used to it in about a month or so. I have an iPad3 that I intermittently use now since 6+ is my primary mobile device.

Just to comment on those having difficulty with putting the iPhone 6+ in a pocket…I am not having this problem.

I generally wear cargo jeans and there's a big pocket on the left that handled my iPhone 5 just fine and now handles my 6+ just fine. The loop for hanging a hammer just above that pocket fits very nicely over my 6+ as well.

Even when I wear ordinary jeans it fits just fine in a back pocket.

I'm not arguing about the difficulty, just stating my experience.

I came from a 5s and I'll be going back to a smaller device once the new ones are out. It just hasn't worked out for me.

For folks that are using an iPhone 6 Plus and who came from a 5/5s - How long did it take for you to adjust to the large size of the 6 Plus? Once you got used to it, did it start feeling natural? Do you ever find yourself in any situation where you feel like you would have preferred a smaller device? Once you go with the 6 Plus, is it hard to go back to something with a smaller screen size?

I am thinking of upgrading from the 5 to the 6s Plus this Fall and would like to know your thoughts.

I had the plus at launch and I straight away took it back and swapped it for the normal 6. The plus was just too big and for me I need a phone to be pocket size. No regrets on getting the 6

Not a 6 Plus, but still.. I had iPhone 5 before purchasing 6. It has been 10 or so months and still, there are moments when using this phone with only one hand I get frustrated. Though sometimes screen feels small and I think about 6 Plus size.

I would easily go with bigger screen, but one handed use is too important for me.

Sometimes I see these gigantic phones and think we're headed back to a dynatac 8000. Of course it won't weigh 2 pounds, but the 6Plus and all the Samsungs look like iPads on the face to me. They fit an NBA player just right. Big body, big phone. I see someone who's just over 5ft tall or smaller using one of these, and it really looks silly.

There was a moment when small was the greatest feature. It was stealthy, easy to handle and use.
What Happened? Text is what happened. Photos a close second.

I'll repeat my statement from many strings here - Apple makes a compact full featured current model and it wipes out the big screens in sales in less than a year. People will buy it.

No me costó nada pasar al 6+. Es más, podría haber sido incluso un poco más grande ya que incluso he dejado de usar del IPad mini. Ahora me compré el reloj, en su versión más económica y la verdad es que estoy muy contento.

No regrets with the iPhone 6 Plus but could I see myself switching to a 4.7" device in the next refresh? Maybe. The trade-offs aren't with the device but rather the terrible in-between Apple put the iPhone 6 Plus in between iPad and iPhone. Rotating of the home screen, weird split views...these are all annoying but the increased icon size to disable these features is even worse. I don't want to keep my phone on rotation lock all the time like I did with an Android phone.

I got used to it, but for the 6S, I'm going back to the smaller size. It's just too awkward to hold even with both hands, especially when they make the darn thing so slippery.

This is why I wish apple would have given use a 5.1 inch phone instead. Held the samsung galaxy S6 and felt much better than the 5.5 or 4.7.

Only took a day or 2 going from 5s to 6+ to get used to it, as far as usability and pocketability.

The bigger issue was it blocking my windshield view :)

After having the plus for a while, it actually starts to feel small compared to the first time receiving it. You get used to it. Going back is not an option anymore. Seeing and hold a 5 (once much beloved to me) now is incredibly small and unbearable for me to use now.

Took maybe 1-2 weeks to really get used to the size, but i never had any regrets.
The 6 plus is awsome, the battery and the screen is great!
Sold my iPad after having had the iPhone for a couple of months, i didn't use it.
And btw, i have small hands and i have no problems with the 6+ size.

Which, model, iPad did you have?

Seems like 6+ users either get used to the size, and say they wouldn't go back; or get tired of the size, and revert (or plan to do so). If only there were a way to know which camp someone (say, me) would fall into, before taking the plunge!

(Btw -- I guess all 6+ buyers would fall by default into one of those two camps; so there ain't nothing profound in my analysis above!)

Went from 5s to 6+, it felt natural to me instantly, however i still brought the 6+ back. 6+ is great as a hybrid between a phone and tablet, but imo overkill if you only need a phone for whatsapp, listening to music and phone calls. I hope Apple will release a new metal 4" or even a 3.5" phone with ipod nano 7th gen hardware music buttons. Nowadays every company is releasing big phones, its really boring...

Apple should have given us a 5" and 5.7" iphone 6. But then a lot less 6+ would have been sold. And 5 inch would perhaps be a tad too big of a jump from 4" .So they would also have to introduce a 4.3" model.
I now have a 6 for personal use and a lg g2 for bussiness.
For personal use the 4.7 is more than enough. For bussiness use, i will try to get myself a 6s+.

I went to an android that was around the 5S size, and went from that to the 6+. I'd say I'm used to the size after a few days, I just think of it as a very small iPad. I'd tried other people's 6's and they were too big to use one handed so when it came time for me to get a new phone I decided since I was going to have to give up one handed use I'd get as big of a screen as I could on an iPhone.

That said if apple ever releases a new 4" phone I'd go back in a heartbeat. I'd never go to the 4.7" size though as it is just big enough to lose one handed use, but not big enough to get a lot of advantages from the big screen.

I bought the 6+ for the big screen itself, so it feels natural to me on a few days after my purchase. In fact now when I look back to my 5, it feel way too small to me and I will never go back to a smaller phone again. So easy to read, watch videos, browsing the web now, I'll never go back.
