I was never able to consistently use my 6 Plus connected to my Time Capsule ac model over 5Ghz ac because of the weak wifi antenna system in said 6 Plus.

With the 6s Plus? Everything is quite different, and I can finally use 5ghz two floors up from the router with great success! Everything loads very snappily. Using the free app Wi-Fi SweetSpots, the difference in connection speed to the router is consistently 2-to-3 times faster on the 6s Plus versus the 6 Plus.

Guess which is which? Also, the 6s Plus is in an Apple case for this test, and the 6 Plus is naked. Both tests run individually.

Thanks for posting this.

I switched my phone to the 5GHz band and damn. I am getting 280Mbps (My internet plaan is 300). So it is almost full speed over wifi.

That is damn impressive. and yeah, the 5ghz signal was garbage on my 6 plus

I get better results as well; iPad mini 4 and iPad Air 2 actually get faster wifi speeds, but it may be because of congestion at night.

My 6S Plus has MUCH worse Wi-Fi (quite bad) and my regular 6 was quite good.

What kind of setting if any on the phone might I try?

Sorry for the offtopic but can anyone compare iPad Air 2 Wifi speeds with 6S/Plus on AC?....they are on par on specs?

The iPhone 6s seems to be as fast as the iPad Air 2 over 5ghz ac in my testing. Sometimes the 6s was faster, actually. I don't even...

My 6s Plus keeps switching to LTE when connected to my 5 Ghz network and when I just checked, it couldn't even see any 2.4 Ghz networks at all (there's 6 nearby including mine) nor could it see my iPad Air 2's personal hotspot until I restarted the iPhone.
