My first 6plus had a minor yellow spot in the top left corner only visible on white backgrounds. It bled down to about 1/4 of the way down the screen and maybe 1" across.

I just flat out returned it because it was minor and I didn't want to gamble with a genius.

My second plus is good, not perfect. I suspect it is slightly blue overall, but I'm more than satisfied because it has perfect uniformity.

It unfortunate that folks are receiving screens that have flaws. With that said, I've used three different 6 and three different 6+ phones (not all mine :) ) and none of them had any flaws. I hope the affected folks can get screens they are happy with.

My sample of six shows everyone else is wrong. (kidding)

How does mine look?

While some people may think this is being nit-picky, I don't think its too much to expect when you pay $650, $750 or even $850 or $950 for a device you should receive a device without any screen defects. I had a 5S last year with the lose/ rattling power button, to me that wasn't acceptable. Apple needs to tighten up their QA process.

That's just the nature of LCD displays. Finding a perfect one is like hitting the lottery. Either live with it or wait for Apple to switch to superior OLED that's free of backlight bleed, uniformity issues, yellowing, bad pixels, etc.

Thin green line of stuck pixels running top to bottom on right side of screen.

Barely noticeable ... but I know it's there and it bugs me.

Can't agree with you enough. For the price we pay we should get quality products. Apple's QC has definitely been slipping.

Must be lucky, my iPad 4 and iPhone 6 plus have perfect screens. My mum's iPhone 5 however has yellow tints around the edges but she's not fussed about it!

I'm on my second 6 and both had the yellow / dark spot on the corner (by the battery symbol). 3rd will be here on Monday. Crossing fingers it doesn't have this issue.

This is why i gave up on the iPhone 6 and went with the 6+

Because their qc isn't the best right now

Not when they are producing 50-100,000 units day.

----------

On my recent Plus, the bottom half of my screen had a slightly yellow tint, noticeable on white.

The brand new replacement doesn't but the home button is slightly squeaky and there was glue at the top of the screen that I had to remove with my nail.

Other than that, it's good to go and a keeper.

Went ahead and swapped mine and it seems to be good so far. The home button seems to have a louder click and is a bit harder to push that the last one no biggie. This still is a tiny tiny bit of white patches at the very top edge of the screen that you have to look hard to see, no where near like it was. It must be something to do with the manufacturing process. No light leak at all.

----------

They where going to swap the screen at first but the genius said that their machine for checking the phones after the screen is put in was down so they just swapped it. I call bs on that one. They probably didn't want to mess with it.

Either I'm having the worst luck in the world or Apple's QC has been dropped to allow them to get more iPhones out there.

I'm not anal/OCD but I do expect a defect free phone for £800. I'm on my 3rd iPhone 6 Plus now:

#1 Dark patch at the top of the screen (weird wavy lines). Also has yellow stain at the top left and dark shadow around the edge of the screen. The rest of the screen was a lovely cool Blue crisp white. Looked great.

#2 Bright white spot at the top of the screen noticable on the Hello setup screen. So blatant I didn't even bother setting the phone up.

#3 No dark patch at the top of the screen or edges. The phone spent the first 48 hours getting really hot with a pegged CPU but seems to have calmed down now. The whites on the screen are a little more yellow and there is a minor shadow across the bottom of the screen. You do have to look for it and it sometimes catches my eye when scrolling down text.

Is it the perfect phone? No but the screen is the best of all three.

It's very disappointing that the experience of purchasing and using an iPhone is so negative. My father has a white 6+ and it's really uniform so they do exist. I don't think its unreasonable to expect a screen with a uniform backlight and colours. Isn't that why we pay a premium for Apple products?

Is anyone else going through this?

Brand new 6s on Thursday and the dark patches have started...

My 6s plus has a bunch of dust under the glass near the top left. Dont live very close to the Apple Store unfortunately.

This is the part that annoys me. I spend three hours on a good day when I don't forget about rush hour and get stuck, but I've been a bit frustrated with the QC this year. So far I've gotten an iPhone 6s with an uneven backlight, one with dead pixels, and one with a bad home button. At this point, I'm just going to be returning what I have and sticking with last year's phone. Luckily I didn't sell that one yet.

I have personally owned or used (on the job) more than a dozen iPhones over the years and I have yet to have a bad screen. There is no question that the Samsung Note 4 that I just got rid of has a superior screen because of the technology used. However, my 6 S Plus has a fine screen for an LCD and I am very happy with the quality of this product, as I have been with the 4 series and the 5 series.
People who post here tend to be the people who are having legitimate problems, or, who have arguably unreasonable, in my humble opinion, expectations for the technology being used by Apple.

I'm past the return period (and at this point I can't go back to the 6 plus because of the RAM issues). I think I will wait it out a month or two; by then the quality control should be a little better.
