iPhone 6 Siri / Dictation won't work...

on iOS 8.3.

Siri & Dictation stopped working. The list of recommendations to ask siri come up. Didn't drop phone at all. Phone calls work fine. Tried rebooting and resetting network settings. Still doesn't work. Seems like a known issue. Is it software or hardware related? Anyone know a fix?

Siri and dictation INOP

Same problem. Sent it in for repair but fault could not be recreated by Apple so they sent it back. They suggested to charge it from the wall rather than from the Laptop (which I do do most of the time). I let the battery drain completely and the charged it from the wall and it did work again but only for a little while.

Only Siri and Dictation seem to be faulty all other microphone applications seem to work.
Bizarrely it does work using the headset.

Since the microphone works you'd think it's software, contra to that though is that it works trough the headset

I am going to try and drain the battery again before I contact support again.

**** i sent mine in for repair. Repair completed. Ill have it back tomorrow or monday. I hope they were able to recreate it and fix it. Or ill send it right back. What did your repair status exactly say? Im hoping they just swapped the phone for a new or refurbished one.

The notes on my repair were microphone no sound , before i sent it in. I hope they know enough that its siri/dictation mic like i told them. We'll see. Seems like a hardware malfunction. It affects front facing video camera sound too. Revord a front facing video & check it out. Crazy static distortion.

Like you the front camera also distorted.

Repair notes simply said they couldn't recreate the problem but try and charge it from the wall. So they clearly have some idea of the issue.

Looks like your problem is a carbon copy of mine.

Please let me know what happens to yours.

Have you had your phone back yet? Is it working now?
I called Apple support to follow up but they advised me to make a Genius appointment which is tomorrow.
If yours is now working is it appropriate to ask for your repair-id so that they can cross reference?

Got it back. It works ! On the print out they sent back with the phone it says :

We've replaced these parts:*
Item Number
661-00141
Description
Display, Space Grey, Iphone 6
Symptom
Rear / Isight Camera Issue

So it looks like they replaced the display only i guess. I dont know how that fixed the mic issue though but it did.
Would rather not give out repair id sorry.

Yeah its got the serial number attached to it. You can open up a chat & maybe pull an "i didnt receive my iphone replacement" , you sent it to the wrong address thing lol. But i gave you all the details attached to the id. Thankfully my bro had an old iphone 5, so i mailed the iphone 6 in. Fast turnaround. Sent it in on a thurs. Got it bck mon morning. Would have had it sooner if it wasnt for the weekend. But switching the sim card (att) from the iphone 6 to the 5 was ok. Switching it back to the 6 caused a problem. Said iphone had to data plan. Had to call att & give them the imei to get the sim working. Never knew that before. Switching sim between phones can confuse att,
