I updated by iPad and iPhone 6+ last night. My iPad is fine, but my 6+ is completely dead. The battery was at 97% last night and now, it won't turn on or charge. Is there anything I can do or should I just take it to Apple?

Strange. Take it to Apple. Mine had no problems with the update except that it switched off Siri.

I updated my 6+ to 8.1.1 last night and it has been running great.

Try a hard reset. Hold the home and power buttons together until the phone restarts. If you don't see anything after about 15 seconds then it likely won't work, but I'd definitely give it a shot.

Folks, posting "my phone works great" doesn't really help the OP much. I am sure they understand this is not a general issue with the update.

Thank you, that actually worked.:D

Plug phone into a computer running iTunes, hold the home button and the power button for 10 seconds, release the power button and continue holding the home button for another 10 seconds, iTunes should prompt you to restore the phone. Your phone is probably stuck in recovery mode, due to a failed update. Restoring the phone through iTunes should resolve your problem. Hopefully you have an iCloud backup or an iTunes backup, as this process will erase your phone.

Restoring my phone is a great idea especially since the update probably failed. Thank you.
