Except that "bricking" is almost a non-existent problem, except for the tens of thousands of 6 and 6+ users that updated to 8.0.1- not anywhere near enough people to have an effect on something like a list of popular searches.

But of course, you're probably not interested in facts- pesky things like that make it harder to push anti-Apple narratives.

Disabling cellular was a major inconvenience, but not "bricking" my 6 was still usable.

By that reasoning, iPhone 6 is only top because it's being compared to android devices, I don't think so.

The s5 is a good device if your into android, and for the price you can pick them up theses days a much better bang for your buck than an iPhone. Given iPhones are not discounted, I can see a lot of people searching for S5 to get a good deal ;) and plenty to be had.

I'm amazed these are hard to come by in the U.S. , in the UK you can pick them up everywhere.

I would take the Z3 over the S5 any day though...

Back on topic, for some reason...I am thinking that Google is gonna rig the search results from now on. When someone searches iPhone 6, it asks "Did you mean Nexus 5?".

So, you're saying that in reality, EVERYONE WANTS an iPhone, and if they have an Android phone instead, then they must fit into one of the four categories? Maybe, just maybe, there are some people like Android better? Maybe they CAN afford an iPhone, but PREFER Android?

But why do they "PREFER" android? Is it one of those 4 categories?

I agree with you, but I'm trying to concede what I can in the interest of being fair. My 6 experienced the same issue and I was able to restore it to 8.0 pretty quickly, but I can certainly see how for some people, their cell phone became basically useless.

Other than that, the majority of people have likely been just fine on iOS 8. MacRumors is one of the first places that people go to get help and complain about problems, so this place makes it seem like iOS 8 is a disaster. Which it's not- it may be buggier than iOS 7, but it's still not awful for most people.

Insert whatever word you want BUT not being able to use your iPhone as a phone means it was useless.

So you played games waiting for the patch? is that what you call useable?

This is nothing more than Android fanboys in their mom's basements searching the internet so they ridicule the iPhone and its users.

so.... in conclusion, when it comes to fanboys doing searches from their mum's basement, Apple has more followers?

well they stuffed up, Nexus 6 only in 3rd spot.....

Perhaps because they don't want to be in Apple's ecosystem?

That doesn't mean they're a hater, just that they don't want to support the company for various reasons. And there are reasons.

This is newsworthy?

Not surprising at all for the best selling individual smartphone. The higher the sales the higher the amount of Internet search requests:rolleyes:

I though Google proved that with the Flu map. According to searches, the Flu was a pandemic of epic proportions. In reality....eeeh not so much.

eh, maybe a couple.

I put the "lipstick on a pig lovers" that prefer Android in the crowd of the Apple haters or tech anarchists. Those categories could be more clear.

wow, that's good... A smart watch that has not hit the shelves yet is on this list.

This will change in the next few days since it was posted here. Samsung will soon hire a few hundred people to do all day and all night google searches for the S5.

I use to say, "Why not?" After all, the iPhone 6 and 6+ models was arguably the most anticipated technology product launch of 2014, given that this is the biggest change in the iPhone since the original iPhone 4 from 2010.
