Just picked mine up from a Vodafone shop in London but the screen was dark in the top right corner.

Took it back and returned it but it's going to take 3 weeks+ to get a replacement.

Balls :(

Anyone else have a similar issue?

It's inevitable that youre going to see complaints like this - so no, you're not alone. I don't personally have a dark spot myself but it's been known to happen on almost every version of iPhone, whether it's yellow or purple tint or uneven lighting. Did they take the phone back or are they letting you play with it til your new one comes in?

Nah, I couldn't keep it sadly. They've taken the phone back.

I know it's to be expected to some extent with every new model, it's just frustrating. Ah well.

On a positive note the phone itself seemed really nice and I'll be happy when I finally get a good one.

Take it back to Apple - they'd probably swap it out on-site.

I would, but it's already in the clutches of Vodafone.

It was a 16GB anyway and I was already thinking I should have gone for the 64, so maybe it's not all bad.

They didn't have one on site for you? I'm surprised as I thought they would if there was a problem but maybe that is only apple. I would have probably taken it to the apple store to get an immediate replacement. Sorry!

No, they only had enough to fulfil their pre-orders sadly. I rang their call centre and even they don't have any stock they can order.

I have the same problem.

My first one had terrible uneven backlighting, with yellowing on the top and the whole left of the screen.

My second one is dark on the top right corner but has a more uniform screen, but also has bleeding in the right buttom.

Anyone got a nice screen? I have only seen two good screens, and that was store models.

Looks like this.

Let me guess...iPhone 6+? F2XXXXX serial?

It's a F73 iphone 6 64gb gold. My first one was a F73 also actually. Is the models starting with C manufactured at foxconn also?

You can see that the top is much darker, and the button right is a little brighter than the rest of the screen. But this set is much better than my first.

Do you think apple see this as within specs?

What happened in this case?

I have recently purchased an iPhone 6 plus and it seems to have this same issue. It's a little darker at the top but not significant. The biggest issue is that at the very bottom of the screen, it is a little brighter than the rest of the screen. It is not horrible and I have been wondering if this is normal as it is the very bottom under the icons. I have read stories were people exchange their phones and the replacement is worse than the original. Thoughts?

My 6+ has uneven backlighting and an ever so dark tint at the very top. It's fairly normal and unless yours is horrific then I would advise against the exchange lottery. You'll just open yourself up to a possibly worse screen, loose buttons and other potential hardware faults.

You should have taken it to an Apple store they probably would have replaced it on the spot :p

I had the same issue with my 5S. There seemed to be grayish smudges around upper half of the screen. I brought it to Apple Store, and Genius who assisted me didn't see anything abnormal with the screen. Then another Genius examined the screen, and concluded that there is some "discoloration." Then they went onto replace the display. It was supposed to take about 30 minutes. Then my phone failed calibration process. So they gave me a new one.

However.... Even my new 5S has some display issue.... Color seems darker/yellowish around menubar.

I had ordered the phone online directly from ATT and did not pick up at Apple store so I was unable to exchange immediately. I did not even really notice the issue until using the phone for a while so I would say that the issue is not horrific, pretty minor at best. I may just take to Apple store when I am in the area and see what they think, around an hour away. Have a feeling that they may find it to be within spec. Just wondered if anyone had this issue as well.
