I still have 6 plus...(poor digital soul). Its on the bed barely rotatable and slowly....slowly....fading away.

8 is apple's insurance policy against iphone x running into issues whilst also aiming at fans who would like to take a safe approach...
The pricing is pretty cheeky considering it incurred no development cost at all!

7 should do wonders for you....

If you’re feeling uneasy about your purchase, don’t hesitate to return it and decide later. I didn’t want to go with the X either this time so I went from a 6 to a 7 and the performance is much better. Black Friday will have some good incentives so maybe revisit the possibility of upgrading around then.
