I'll start by saying I currently have an iPhone 7 which I use as my main phone, but I am looking at getting a work phone so I can switch it off outside work hours and not have to deal with customers ringing me after 6pm.

I've already got an iPhone 6 which has a smashed screen (Apple can repair this for £139, which will make the phone like new), but I'm also considering an iPhone SE which I can add to my current contract for £15 per month (for the 128gb version) or £10 per month (for the 32gb version).

What I'd like to know is, which phone is better? I know the SE has a newer processor, etc, but the iPhone 6 has the bigger screen, slimmer body and the SE just looks like an iPhone 5.

If given the choice, which would you choose?

The iPhone SE would be my choice. It has 2 GB of RAM, a faster processor and excellent battery life. But it really comes down to form factor, because they're two different size phones.

To me, when I owned the iPhone 6, the one GB of RAM and GPU ultimately slowed down the experience.

The iPhone SE... only because of the faster processor the better camera and a better design...

Only thing 6 has going for it is the screen!!!

Calculate the total cost to have each phone. If both costs are the same or to the SE advantage, get the SE. If getting the SE will cost you more, just fix the 6. The 6 still runs great.

In short, only get the SE if the cost to do so is the same or less than fixing the 6.

I disagree. The 6is already 3 years old and I don't think it has much life left. I would get the SE.

Yup, this.

How much are you willing to spend for a spare/work phone? Also, does that £10-15 per month include service? If it's already inclusive of service, how much will service cost by itself? Is battery life on the iPhone 6 still good?

I have both iPhone's and iPhone SE blows out my iPhone 6 in every aspect. Battery life /performance /camera everything is far more superior than iPhone 6. It will also be more future proof than 6 (long software support)

Go get a SE. Even if i have to choose between both given at this point i will happily choose iPhone SE over iPhone 6 any day :)

There is no such thing as "Future proof"
with technology being how it's consistently updated on an annual basis and there is no given time line for product support. Given the SE has additional Ram, it will likely see support longer, but the decision should come down to price point and form factor. Not Worrying about the future of a product that is unforetold.

SE is the better phone in general, but if you need it for work, i think 6 would be better due to bigger screen, easier for the eyes if you need to find something on safari etc.

Every iPhone can last up to 5 years ,with active updates. So future proof is still a thing. I expect from my SE minimum 3 more years of usage.

The SE is the best iPhone I have ever owned.

It's great value for money. Lightning fast. Amazing battery life. Great camera. Headphone Jack. No gimmicks. Comfortable to hold. Easy to use in one hand. Fits in all pockets. Doesn't bend.

The iPhone 6 on the other hand...I barely even remember owning one. Once the novelty of the bigger screen wore off (within an hour or two), I realised I had a phone with terrible battery life. Was awkward to use. Didn't fit properly in many pockets. Felt like an extremely delicate bar of soap in hand. And it wasn't that fast, even a few years ago.

It's a no brainer in my eyes. The SE all the way.

Hi!Iphone SE would be my choice, because of its better specs (2RAM, a faster processor ,excellent battery life and better camera)Don't bother about screen size because the iPhone se would be your secondary phone

Thanks for all the comments/opinions. I think I'll go and buy the SE and will sell my iPhone 6 for spares (the board is still good and has 64gb storage, so might get enough to pay for 6 months on the SE).

Thanks again

Between the 2, the SE would be a better choice. Especially since it is still cheaper than the 6 for new models from prepaid carriers.

Both would be an adjustment for me if I went back from a 7+.

I bought a couple people SEs as upgrade phones from a 5 and 5c. Much more affordable, and the 6 has less carrier support than the SE, such as for T-Mobile.
