iPhone 6 white or black?

Now that is utter nonsense. The original iPod was only available in white. White is the emblematic Apple gadget color. Gender has exactly nothing to do with it. I know just as many men who own white iPhones as black and just as many women who own black as white.

I'd like to see a black version with a silver back. I'm surprised Apple haven't released this variant as it would match the rMBP perfectly. I'm not a fan of the white face but do like the silver back.
I believe silver would also hide scratches to the back better, although I'm hoping scratches on the space grey will be less noticeable than on my old, black, iPhone 5... The scratches on that were ridiculous!

If they're sticking with metallics, I would have liked to have seen black with a copper/rose gold colored back.

I think girls do tend towards the white because: it can look a little more feminine, it's different and sets them apart, and it's a little more status-y because it's more easily identifiable as an iPhone.

I've had white iPhones since the 4S and planed on getting one again. However, I changed my mind after seeing the Space Gray 6 at the AT&T store on launch day. The Black one really looked sharp on the display wall and I still love it 3 days later. Best thing to do is look at them side by side in the store and see which one stands out to you.

I like the black just because the bezel isn't visible in the dark like the white. For daytime use it doesn't really matter, whatever your preference is.
